Honestly I vastly prefer this design to the newer one. Far more unsettling.

I can imagine this in a murky swamp, just waiting for prey to come closer... Love how you made this look. Looks like it definitely belongs in hell creek.

I can't believe this once lived on EARTH! Looks like it should be on a different planet.

I know this isn't a speculative evolution piece, but this image just gave me an idea for one, if you guys want I can tell you about it.

Will this animal eventually become playable in the future?

Corallianassa In reply to Guyverman [2016-09-17 19:03:50 +0000 UTC]
I don't know, it was the devs' choice.
Not every animal can be playable, and they would need to make the map much higher for flying to work, and everything to load from a much greater distance, eating away much of your computer's calculation speed.

But still, a flying animal would add some variety.

what is the female triceratops going to look like?
cause all you lot have shown is a triceratops with a bright red face, which i think only the males would have...
same question also applies to tyrannosaurus rex and dakotoraptor...

Will this be one of the environmental baddies we'll have to look out for as a foe?
I wish there was a starting species that could fly, that would add a completely different aspect to the whole game ;A;
I would add something many other survival type games wouldn't have, including having an entire sky environment, where other things could attack you and weather conditions matter as well.

Actually, I'm sure Air-Turrets could take them down easy, They'd just be like massive birds to us, we'd get used to their existence and probably hunt/eat them to extinction/as trophies.
OR
We could tame them, chuck a suit of armour on them and charge them into battle <3

TheRockyCrowe In reply to hiskam [2016-01-21 02:01:01 +0000 UTC]
hmmm, now THAT'S an idea!
problem is our ancestors would have to evolve their weaponry extremely fast to achieve air turrets! X'D So I'm hoping maybe the tamin option would work, tame them with offerings of gigantic birdseeds and meat. lol
riding one of these things into battle would be bad-ass.

hiskam In reply to TheRockyCrowe [2016-01-21 04:27:03 +0000 UTC]
Well, for the Air-Turrets, you could have like a Prehistoric version or whatever that would be like a massive Crossbow made out of Animal Pelts, Bones and Rocks which would need to be operated by multiple people to aim at the Saurian? xD

Except humans aren't going to be appearing in Saurian, just dinosaurs (and other animals like said Quetz).
EDIT: I read that comment wrong.

About 8 metres, right? The largest known animal to fly without mechanical help. Like a carnivorous flying giraffe chasing after you!
One of the best quetzalcoatlus pictures I have seen.

wow! had I seen dinosaur art like this when I was 5, you know, when I was told I was old had to think of something besides being an artist, I this would have changed my life. I probably would of ran away and joined a dinosaur graffiti gang or sold my body on the streets for wacom stylus tips.
