Description This was a plastic bird that I found in the "wedding" section at my local craft store. I mounted it on a wax ring band, created a plaster mold, and then poured molten silver into that mold to create this ring. This is known as a "lost wax casting". Here are more examples:

i know how to sand cast, but not how to lost wax cast. what kind of plaster did you use? i have heard of using clay around the piece, but that's it

haha to funny! I have cast this same exact wedding favor. Only I made a pendant instead of a ring. Nice, casting plastic is a lot of fun

wow...is that a ring ???..oh my god..this is a beautiful peace...and it reminds me just of my very first real wish for a job, i really did want a long time to become a goldsmith, ayy... i participate once in a 4 hours evening class course , all members have been shown how to produce a simple artwork piece of ring. still have it, mh, doesnt really fit but, i enjoyed the process, after i finished the course i knew i would become anything but a goldsmith...my fingers arent really made for heavy handicraft. but i always get eyes of a child when i see such a perfectly ring done by heart . lovely !

I didn't know that! Interesting. Unfortunately, my hands can make jewelry but not wear it. They are pretty bulky Guess you can't have it all
