Description
So, as you may know from my latest staus update, I found this pastel painting today and realized that I never uploaded it. I think it's very pretty and wanted to share it with you!Critique is always appreciated!

So first off, I love space art and drawing galaxies, so I really appreciate the work that you put into this piece. I think this one would be more appropriately called a nebula, rather than a galaxy, I believe?
Anyway, love the colors. Nice and cool, but with some nice vibrancy. I note that a previous commenter already pointed out the yellow feels a little out of place? I think maybe the yellow looks a little too greenish. Perhaps a warmer yellow would have fit better? (I realize that the piece itself is cool, not warm, but I think the warm yellow would have had a nice pop, rather than an out of place vibe.) The blues and pinks are great, though.
I’d also like to say that maybe you could draw a few larger stars with a little bit more shape? I’m not sure how you drew them, but it reminds me a lot of a paint splatter with acrylic that I’ve done a few times. Obviously with a splatter, you can’t really control the shape, so I think that this works for the general stars, but maybe you could have gone in and added shape to a few of the larger ones with some white pastel?
As far as your pastel use goes, it looks very good! I haven’t the slightest clue what color paper you used underneath, so the layering is very nice. I like the smoothness and blending of the colors, especially in the sky itself, with the blue to black gradient? The pink and blue of the nebula itself are very well done.
Honestly, my only real critique is the yellow, hehe. Also perhaps the shape? You have a very streaky, rainbow-like effect, and nebulas can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and often look a little, for lack of a better word, poofy. You do have some great texture, though, from both the stars and the pastel details.

Woah, you're right, I didn't really think about what to call it when I uploaded it, but nebula would fit better xD
The yellow mixed a little with the blue underneath, that's why it looks greenish. I don't really know if you could prevent that, but I could maybe add another layer of yellow?
I've actually really splattered white acrylic on it😂
I really like this idea, I'll add a few defined stars the next time I draw a nebula/Galaxy😊

I love the colors actually, the only thing that stands out is the yellow, I think it could've been good without it, and perhaps to blend the colors a little more? But yeah, it's still beautiful and I'm quite fond of it as I'm fond of spacy things x3 so keep the good work up, and may you be enlightened by improvement, fellow deviant!

Yeah, the reference had a yellow tone in it, I think I painted it a little too vibrant.
Well, since this is painted with soft pastels blending them is so easy, but overblending is also always a problem. Towards the end of a pastel painting, you usually don't really blend them at all so that there are some details in it.
What do you think, how could i improve it maybe?

Perhaps using a slightly wet paintbrush and go on the places you want to blend throughout the whole process of drawing? And then you can add details when you don't need to blend anymore O3O
I don't really use soft pastels so I think some tutorials would be a better help than me actually! x)
