Unfinished piece that Im not satisfied with.But I hope you like it. Tried some composition with characters.

I like the look of the soldiers hereΒ to show off the scale of the beast. Nevertheless I've always wondered how people with mere swords would ever have a chance against dragons they way they are depicted in stories. Clearly an army and siege weaponry would be a bare minimum. 
Anyway, a nice perspective and idea! I think you could probably do with a few more splashes of colour to broaden the palette a bit and make the elements 'pop' a little more.

The effect with the dirt coming up around the dragon definitely adds to the piece.
