It wasn't as cool as that.Β It was just the discovery channel pretending they found the remains of a dragon, and kinda went into the science that could've made them real creatures, such as how they flew and breathed fire, that sort.Β But as with all those 'we made it real' documentaries, everything had to die at the endΒ >: /

dinosaur bones might've played a factor.Β But they're a trick to distinguish from regular rock sometimes, plus a lot of areas were once beneath the sea level long before dinos perished.

An unidentified pterosaur or even a prehistoric bird could be taken for or even defined as a dragon. If such bones were discovered say, millennia ago, they could evenΒ have given rise to the traditional image of the dragon.Β
I take it that's not covered in the documentary, though. XD
