Description Aaaand more Lasso madness! Sorry to spam you guys, but this is fun. -_-'

Combination of texture brushes and lasso tool. A lil' critter having a swing on his favorite tire. I was originally just drawing a tree, but these things tend to snowball.

Your artwork could never be considered spam ^_^
Will we be seeing some lasso effects in the COV backgrounds now?

N'aww, thanks!

Very possible...but not excessively so. I don't want the styles to conflict.

beautiful! i think this lasso thing has given your work a new slant, more oriental i think - the sharpnesss of the tree and rocks reminds me a bit of the chinese woodcuts. the tree, by the way, is simply GORGEOUS! i love the layering of the texture and colours.

Art-Zealot In reply to tilwen [2011-12-17 20:55:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks so much! On the tree I did normal painting on it a little, then lassoed, then overlaid a texture. Lasso by itself is a little tricky to get looking right.

It's definitely a change, so I'm going to see if I can make it work with my style. Future lasso stuff will probably be less dramatic.

Haha, love it! The creature is adorable and the composition really adds to the feeling of swinging freely.

Your pictures are always so...clear and big. What canvas size do you use?

Art-Zealot In reply to Nemonus [2011-12-16 12:43:43 +0000 UTC]

Thanks much! I usually use at least 1000x1000 pixel canvas, but this one was 1476×964. I also usually sharpen each one very slightly on Preview.

Thanks! I definitely recommend it, though it can be hard to get all the layers to behave themselves...

Ah, yeah. My PC might die from the layers, but it's still worth a shot.

Wow, this is crazy intricate. I haven't found a tutorial for this on dA yet, I suppose it isn't a common thing.

Art-Zealot In reply to HappyAggro [2011-12-15 23:14:25 +0000 UTC]

It mustn't be, because I've been looking for a tutorial on YouTube with no luck. I've figured out how to record my screen though, so hopefully I can remedy the situation with one of my own (well, less a tutorial and more a demonstration).

Thanks muchly!
