Description
Someday this thought will be complete. There will be a stable population of red wolves (Canis rufus) spread along the east coast.We have come a long way from the 17 wolves left in 1980, but still have a long way to go. Around 100 red wolves roam the wilds of N. Carolina and another 180 in captive facilities.
My dream is for these beautiful creatures to become stable enough to maintain a good population without constant human monitoring. Just as the goal as not been reached, neither is the picture fully realized.

When I fist saw this piece, I thought it was just unfinished. I really like your idea behind it. It's touching and though provoking.

Naw, its a red wolf ^_^ Though if I'm correct they are about the same size. Mexican wolves tend to be paler and shaggier

yeah but the neck fur made me kinda think it was a mexican wolf because its usually kinda thin
