Have you noticed that when a white person likes anime, they're called a "Wapanese", "otaku", etc., but when an Asian person liked anime, they're called a "typical Asian"?Hey, I'm an Asian, and I find that pretty offensive.
There's a humongous percent of Asian people who hate anime with all their heart, and a (hopefully) bigger percent of non-Asians who love anime.
When people walk past me while they draw, they don't see me as an individual. They think, "OH GOD, another one of these Asians. FFFFF."
It's like saying pasta is only for Italians.

In the West otaku simply means anime fan. Language evolves this way. Words carry over and sometimes change meaning.

I never understood this :/ How does a white person liking anime or the asian culture equal to being 'wapanese'? -__- Just like with K-Pop not all Koreans like K-Pop. I find that pretty insulting when people say 'Oh you're white you can't like anime or K-Pop or J-rock' it really annoys me hearing stuff like that. *sighs* Oh well. I suppose there's not much we can do about those people

They shouldn't be saying things just because of someone's nationality. People have their own preferences and personalities. It's not fair that they have steryotypes for who can cosplay and who can't. It's so irritating.

It annoys me when non-Asians are labled as "weaboos" just because they love anime (and/or like Japanese junk food). People forget what a weaboo IS most of the time. *sigh*

Sure I'm an otaku and I love anime aswell. Yeah so what if I'm not asian, I don't like the style of the American/Canadian stuff they air on TV because most of it has charecters that don't have eyelashes. And so what if certain anime charecters have huge chests? At least there not TRIANGLES! Seriously those pointy boobs piss me off, fo reals! I know a lot of girls with bigger chests then Matsumoto!*BLEACH* at least anime is a bit more human-like.

You don't know how much of a weeaboo you look like right now. Cartoons here are just that... cartoons. The same goes for anime - it's short for animation, in other words; cartoons. Chests and eyelashes should have nothing to do whether or not you'll watch a TV show - it's a show, grow up! The style their drawn/animated in is someone's hard work, cartoons here are so.. well cartoony because that's the style we enjoy. We have plenty of "human-like" cartoons too; take Totally Spies for example.

- I do not have a problem with white people in general watching anime. If that were truly the case, then I would be a hypocrite because I am white myself and I watch anime. What I do have a problem with though, is when the stereotypical ones (the ones called weaboos, wapanese, etc.) stereotype the Japanese people, bastardize their language and THINK that they know what their culture is like when in reality they do not know shit because they are too freaking lazy to take a history course, research their country or have never been their to begin with to actually experience it.
