Description
Following on from VIDEO: A spell to shrink Edelgard
A giant hand descended to the floor, mere centimetres from the miniaturized Edelgard. Taking Hubert’s cue, she climbed aboard the fleshy platform. Her tiny red legs were insignificantly small compared to the hand. She tried to distract herself from thinking about how large everything was. Every time she spotted an object she thought she knew, she felt another spike of fear. Only by not confronting the reality of her size could she prevent herself from trembling.
She wanted to remain standing, but Edelgard found it difficult to keep her balance when Hubert’s hand started to move upward. She quickly sat down, shuffling about a bit to get comfortable. That did little to alleviate her nerves. Everything around her was still oppressively large.
“You seem to need a moment.” Hubert boomed. Edelgard thought she had been hiding her fear well, but obviously not well enough.
“No, I…” Edelgard protested before she felt herself moving downward again. Hubert placed his hand down onto the surface of his desk.
“Lady Edelgard, I suggest you get used to this size.” Hubert said. “You will need to get your bearings, otherwise you won’t be able to find your way around the Holy Tomb.”
Edelgard calmed down upon hearing her name. No matter how small she was, she would still be Edelgard von Hresvelg. She could not lose her sense of self.
“You may have a point.” She agreed. She carefully stood, before stepping off Hubert’s palm.
This is Hubert’s desk… Edelgard reminded herself as she looked around. Even a simple tabletop now formed a landscape to the tiny woman. Perhaps exploring this area would get her accustomed to being so small…
