Description
This is my first try using Zbrush. It's a weird piece of software but also very powerful in terms of digital sculpting. After using it for a while I've come to a conclusion Blender's sculpting tools just aren't up to any serious work.
Everything started with a neutral female base mesh which I sculpted with a reference of a 60yo woman. At some point I took my results to FaceApp and used the AI to make her older. This served as a further reference where I tried to follow all the wrinkles she had. That took several evenings of careful examination, but it was a nice lesson in facial anatomy since the skull and muscles are more visible on an older person.
The finest wrinkles and skin pores along with other texturing work was done in Substance Painter. The brow was Zbrush Fibermesh, and the hair is Blender particle hair. Everything was rendered in Octane Render.
At some point I'm planning to try my hands on Maya and Xgen since it seems to be superior when it comes to realistic hair.
