Did you know that every culture in the world has some form of rope weaving to call it's own?
I SO love how practical it is.
Horse harnesses, dog leashes, purse straps, belts...

haha, yeah, I mean, I don't know if each and every culture, but I've seen tablet weaving stuff from romans, vikings and native americans and of course that's an incredible reaching
ahd yeah, it's awesome, I just have to buy some more wool and then I'll be ready to weave more stuff

And asia, china, egypt... Same reason why spears have been used as weapons nearly everywhere - its simple and practical

these are two of the best sites I know... but still the tutorials found there are not really simple... it took me a lot of time to really get how this stuff worked the first time I made a loom... but I hink you should try to learn from those sites and maybe I could be of help if you'd need further...help xD

haha, I totally agree with that.... unfortunately I can stand my own mess just for a maximum of two weeks... and the time is coming to a limit again.... but I'm just too lazy to start cleaning and tidying things up
