Description So I'm designing dragons for a comic my friend is doing. It's going to be epic, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. This is the water dragon, who is one of the four imperial dragons of Shangrila (or something to that effect, we're still hashing out details).

Anyway, we wanted to make it look different from everyone else's interpretation of the Eastern Dragon. I'm a big nerd and remembered that a rare few eastern dragons had wings or flippers, and so we're playing with that. This dragon doesn't have legs, it has flippers. In the water he is unmatched, combining the powerful forelimbs with an elegant tail for thrust and direction, while the smaller hind legs act as rudders and stabilizers. He would look something like a pliosaur or a pinniped in the water, but that comes with the price of being extremely ungainly on the land. He can drag himself along much like a sea lion, but it's highly inefficient and uncomfortable.

He's also bioluminescent, featuring both bright spots of light (which match his glowing eyes) and tiny, hardly visible cilia running along either side of the dorsal ridge that create rainbow effects the same as it does for comb jellies. This is instead of the more traditional mane and/or feathers adorning the back.

Yeah, I know he's rough. And he's not exactly mine, he's more a gift for Erin, but I really enjoyed working on him. Plus I tried out a better coloring technique. Much easier.

Let me know what you think. I'm willing to change him up a bit, or do a different design if you think this one sucks.
