Kirin walks through her forest like any other day when she hears a loud honking.
"Dang it. now I have to deal with this old bag of feathers. All I want is a nap!"
"KIRIN! KIRIN!! HELP!!" at this Kirin starts to walk a bit faster. The old goose still freaking out like normal. What now, is there a fish in the water??
"Yes Gala dear, whats wrong? " Kirin says trying not to sound annoyed. The crazy bird was looking a bit scared. Normally she is just ticked off.
"There is a scaly monster in the pond! It went after my nest! my eggs!! Get this monster out of here!" Gala was screaming at this point.
"Okay I'll take a look, no promises though."A scaly monster?? I mean Kirin has scales, but not enough to be called a monster! She walked slowly to the pond she had come to love. Her mind went wild trying to figure this out! maybe it was an alligator or croc? maybe a dragon that wanted a swim?? She continued the few feet then called out. Then she saw a shimmer of blue. A curved horn reached out of the water. Followed by damp fur then those scales. 'What is this thing?' Kirin thought. after 10 agonizing seconds of the creature shaking it's scaled neck he spoke and it was like honey and a cool breeze.
"My lady I am so sorry! I didn't mean to upset the old goose. I tried to apologize but then she started screaming 'Kirin'. Is that truly your name?"
"u-um yeah" she squeaked out. "and what do you call yourself, or shall I just call you Scaly Monster?" she said in attempts at a joke. It must have worked because his face turned more of a red color. Maybe he was getting burns?
"heh no my name is Chimera. I am again sorry. Btw does that goose know those 'eggs' are just rocks?" he said with his fluffy hair billowing in the wind that just had to blow in. His whiskers flowing haphazardly, long tail scraping on the ground. His scales still shining in the sun, and those eyes-
"u-um *cough* yeah I mean no. she doesn't know. Or maybe she does? Who knows." What was she thinking?!?! This thing intruded on her land and terrified the residents. And what was she saying? She wasn't scared of this thing! "I am going to have to escort you out now. Gala isn't too happy."
"oh um, sorry for intruding. I saw the water and I couldn't resist." His ears went back and his smile that she hadn't realized was there left.
"why are you even here? Don't you have your own land? And what are you?" she asked moving towards the exit, he followed and took a while to answer. When she looked behind her his smile was back but it never reached those glorious eyes.
"I do have my own land but my brother is looking over it for now. I just wanted to see if there where other Qilins. and I found one! have you really no idea what I am? I am a male version of you! ha you don't get out much hu?"
"u-um.. lets change the topic and just start at the beginning shall we? Hi, my name is Kirin, the sole guardian of this land, and the only one here that is any kind of magic. who are you then?" she said trying not to look any more stupid.
"Hi Kirin, I am Chimera, the sole cool guardian of the land Ithao. the only one there that wants a friend." his voice sounded closer so Kirin turned her neck only to find herself looking into the bright blue eyes of Chimera.
"Hi" was all she could manage. It was a temperate day but somehow a chill rode up her spine and a heat grew inside of her that made her want to fall to the ground. yet she found she could not take her eyes away.

somehow i failed so much that I forgot chimera's side horns... i want death.
