Description Jubes was the teen face of the X-Men for much of the 90's and with that era came that pallete which I think really embodies her character. J is loud and outspoken and rebellious and should always look like it.

Soo... If I were to want to make this costume for the 2013 season of the convention season...
How much of my soul would you need?

Dude, you have no idea how I love this character . She's one of the most upbeat & optimistic characters in all comics . No matter what gets thrown at her, Jubes keeps on going and will stand . I know how they love to belittle her , but I'll say this out loud : She is an extremely empathetic character & it's nearly impossible not to feel for her (hence why reading or drawing her crying is a bit painful for me...), I mean SHE (& Sabretooth ) made me like Wolverine . They can say what they want , but she never "immasculated" Logan at all. In fact she gave Logan something the current WHoreverine is lacking : Actual humanity . Jubes knew the absolute worst of what Wolverine was capable of, but just accepted it. He still flirted, brawled and slaughtered villains while she was tagging along.
So thank you for your redesign of one of the greatest characters Marvel created ! [link] [link]

THANK YOU! I hate when fans dismiss her. J is one of the most iconic X-Men / Marvel characters of all time. She's also very important in terms of developing many of the other characters. Modern fans seem to have trouble realizing that there needs to be a "Kitty" around. You need that younger, more emotional, positive outlook on situations. It keeps the X-Men young and hip and emphasizes the family dynamic that most of the best X-Teams tend to take on.

Jubilee is my generation's Kitty and we love and value her just as much as the old guys love their precious Kitty and just as much as these new jacks love their Pixie/Armor/Laura. Jubilee had more spunk and attitude than all of them combined. Yes, she's very much the spirit of the American 90's, but I don't think that's a negative. She should be treated as such-- just a seriously hip and trendy but somewhat outspoken loud, fun teenage girl.

My regret with this piece is that I made her boobs too big. I really don't like big tit Jubes. I remedied that in my later drawing of her: [link]

I used to despise the vampirism but I am currently reevaluating that opinion. It's defietely a marketing and business decision. She had a bad reputation among new readers and something had to be done to not only bring her back into comics, but make her appeal to a new generation. I can't tell you how many vamp Jubilees I saw at last comiccon-- whereas previously no one ever cosplayed the character.

So yea, even though I like fireworks better than vampirism, I certainly like her being around and actually in books rather than being powerless and floating around in comics limbo.

Now that's a tasty reply !
See , I think I'd better explain more in detail where I come from when it comes to x-men comics, but let's say that in 3 years I've read the most of different periods & runs & came to this conclusion : The best era was the late 80's-1996 for the core books . here's my reading experience (I hope it won't bore you ) [link]

Jubilee had more spunk and attitude than all of them combined

Not to mention a 3-dimensional personality. She's extremely relatable & can succeed as much as she screws up. Also, initially, her background was tougher than Kitty’s. I mean, Jubilee was made an orphan who after her parents were murdered and had to live on her own in a mall… which is why I like her, she is mature in some ways, and has something of a child in others. One of my favourite What-ifs was when she succeeded in killing Sabretooth, & trust me it's not funny at all, even the emotional trauma at the end of the story is here & still strong .

As for the powers , I have a few ideas to make them more versatile ... Besides they are colorful plasma not fireworks , they are dangerous !

I always loved Jubilee, but I have to wonder, why does she always wear dishwashing gloves? Nice pic.
