Wonderful photo! I am curious, do the pagodas have a special function and if so, what?

You are so very sweet. A pagoda is a tiered tower with multiple eaves. There are a lot of them in Nepal, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and other parts of Asia. Most pagodas were built to have a religious function, most commonly Buddhist, and were often located in or near temples. However, the word "Pagoda" is a word Westerners made up.

This is so sad that nothing exists like this in your country. I am glad you can enjoy the photograph. Thank you for the faves on Japanese Garden 8: Compound, Chinese Pagoda on Lake Edge, and Chinese Home Courtyard.

It's to be expected? Thank you. Today I deleted 25 photos from my gallery. I just looked at the fave/comment statistics and the ones that generated very few got the axe!

I appreciate that you faved Chinese Home Courtyard, Japanese Garden 8: Compound, and Chinese Pagoda on Lake Edge.

Hi Andy

Oh no, not the axe...?! (joke)...
What about creating a gallery just for those pictures...

I did this once with some of my paintings - but then thought, well even if only one or two like something then at least they get the pleasure of that creation...

Appreciate all your work...

California!? Wow...can't believe they have such fantastic examples of chinese architechture outside China! Explains why it looks so new though! Makes me wonder what the rest of Pasadena's like!

Pasadena and some of the surrounding communities have some very affluent Chinese people. There is Chinese architecture everywhere in L.A. In fact, you can find architecture and food and music from all over the world here in L.A.

Heh...trust L.A. to do China even bigger and better than the Chinese! I'll have to have a hunt for more pics of Pasadena...sounds like my kinda place!
