Description Beisa isn't a Gemsbok, but they're quite similar since they both are Oryx species. Beisa is a little smaller and have not many black spots like Gemsbok have; plus, Beisa is from Somalia's desert and Gensbock is from Kalahari. I drew that pic because I wanted to make a CG art about wild life; since Oryx are among my favourite antelope species, I choice this one because it's pretty similar to the popular Gemsbok.
I used several photos as reference, and I did the pic with Painter and Photoshop. It took more time than I though at first, but I'm quite agree with the result.

***

Yes, I also love gemsboks, they're my favorite orix specie. But since mostly of pics are about them, I thought Beisa also deserved some love

Well, certainly I love wildlife and I always had a thing for hoofed species, so I guess it's easier to draw for me

Thank you!
Well, actually I used photosop for some bits on this pic, but the fact is I drew it using Painter, a program that imitates traditional artist paint.
I also rather like traditional techinicles, but using CG helps a lot and it's easier.

Very nice. Very natural looking. I get so worked up on studying animals for monster creation that I neglect their natural beauty. If I'm not mistaken I think we got some of these in our local zoo in St. Louis. I'm going to have to get out there and draw again. Hmm, days off next week...

*kaff* Sorry. Disney moment there. Very nice. They look like they're about to stampede right out of my monitor.
