Except Ellie, he tried to save her! But she came back. So I don't know if that counts as a save or failed attempt.

Good point, he wouldn't have lived long anyway.
I still wonder how that guy was wake and not crying from pain or anything! Maybe a health pack would have save him if Isaac would have given him one. He didn't share any with Ellie...

I thought that guy was screaming for help as Isaac looked for health packs and ammo in the room across the hall, maybe it depends on what you did in the game. I don't remember the beginning too well, but one thing for sure, that necromorph was a dick (just like the rest).
The guy did put up a fight though; kicking that necromorph, I thought he was gonna make it, for a moment only just a moment ( ;__; )

I know, good thing Issac did lived. It's amazing that he survived going through all those necromorphs in the beginning with hospital loafers AND with his arms tied up!

Maybe if he did save the guy, then the Slasher might target him first and pwn them both in the spot. >m<

D: a necromorph pwning Isaac?! What is this world coming too?!
But that could be true too. We rather have Issac alive!

It's like all the aliens within each of the universes like to team up on the strongest human around and try to take that one human down (but fail) XD
Together, the both of them would handle the aliens without a problem~

Actually, I think it seemed more to me like a very dark peek into Isaac's perhaps otherwise overlooked nature. It just seemed like the guy was creaming for his help... and Isaac was saying, "I'm trying, I'm trying", but all the while he's not even trying to save the guy at all - he's going right for the plasma cutter to save his own ass. Or maybe because he's eager to get back into the battle. I dunno, I just personally always thought that those little glmpses into Isaac's decision making were meant to unsettle us subconsciously, and set us up emotionally for the fact that in the end, Isaac is infected, and he isn't really one of us anymore.

I kinda thought that Isaac was only trying to save himself in the beginning too, but I don't wanna see Isaac like that :/ However it does make him more realistic, like what a normal person would have done in this kind of situation, which is why he is pretty awesome as a video game character.
You seem to have put a lot of comment into your comment, it's cool (you're cool too).

Thanks, yes I like to talk, especially about Isaac Clarke.
Yeah I feel the same way, I like Isaac enough that I don't want to see him as a bad guy, either... but in a way, seeing him that way makes Dead Space even more fun for me. There are just so many questionable instances where this "selfish" nature of Isaac comes out, that it is hard for me not to think that way.
For example, I think I first noticed this is DS1; that part in the USM Valor, where Isaac is walking down the hall and comes across this USM soldier who is pinned to the ceiling by a broken gravity panel. The guy is crying out, obviously in a lot of pain and still alive, but Isaac never saves him - he just walks on by, and that soldier is just like a piece of eye candy. When I first played that part, I was like, "Jesus, Isaac... help the poor guy, would ya?" I even tried to help him myself, trying to shoot him down or pull him away with kinesis, or destroy the gravity panel... but nothing worked. You're just expected to leave that guy hanging there. Scenarios like that really made it obvious at some times that Isaac really is not a superhero out to rescue everyone... just like them, he really is out to save his own ass.
Same in DS2 - I don't think Isaac really cares about the Marker one way or another, he just wants to destroy it so that he can be saved from his dementia. If he wasn't suffering from the infection, he would probably have just run away from Aegis7 and forgotten all about the Marker. It was only because it came back to haunt him that he had to deal with it.

Sweet, Isaac talkin' time~
I guess Isaac is just normal, except when he is a badass with the necromorphs. He would probably do what most of us would in his situation: just fight and run. I hope he isn't selfish, but like you said, it's hard to overlook that in some moments :/ (like not sharing his health packs when Ellie's RIG is red). But it's odd that he let people boss him around most of the time. Prehaps he didn't know what he was doing and knew he needed the help.
I don't know much about DS1 (yet). But that sounds like a bad moment for Isaac. Well, it's kinda good that Issac isn't a superhero; he'd just be another ultra-powered-alien-killin'-guy.
You're right, in DS2, the only reason he trusted all those people (even Nicole!) was to fix himself. I wonder if he could have just ran away from the station. I wonder where he would have gone. It was kind of a bad idea for them to stay with monster swarming the place.
[I hope this makes sense and I didn't repeat myself; I had to rewrite this comment because I lost internet connection when I clicked "send" and I lost it all *tear*]

I just can't help but keep thinking that Isaac is gonna be the next Hive Mind. It would be SO FRACKIN COOL if in DS3 Isaac wasn't just hunting necromorphs anymore - but was controlling them! I could totally see the concept, the game controls (i.e. Isaac could 'possess' necros and walk around using their bodies as his own); and you could gather a little group of them that would follow you to protect you, etc. etc.
Of course, that would probably mean that the humans might be less inclined to help him rather than kill him outright, but after what happened on the Sprawl I think that everyone is going to be out to get him anyway. They'll probably blame everything on him; the Ishimura, the Sprawl... the Church and EarthGov'll just say that he's the terrorist!

Hell yeah! Playing as necromorphs would probably be like the online mode~ but playing as a necromorph would be weird too, it'd be as if we're betraying the humans D: We can't do that!
Hopefully Ellie won't ever hate Issac, she is the only one we can trust! ( >.< )
After all that, EarthGov is tighttttttt. Having Isaac + Necromorphs VS EarthGov would be EPIC. Can't wait.
