I should be working on art for my Flash project, darn it.
This may be the last page for a while until I get back abreast of my art class. (I do not rule out the possibility of fevered late-night have-to-make-a-comic-page-now fits of productivity.)If it seems like I'm going out of my way to avoid showing anyone's eyes - I am. It's a stylistic experiment, I'm trying to create a sense of visual detachment to match the wispy, faraway feel of the fairy tale. I have to do all kinds of visual gymnastics and I'm not even sure it works, but I'm having fun with it anyway. XD

From what I can decifer, artists block out characters eyes for the same reason some make their characters overly-simplified- Because that way, they're easier to identify with, and the readers can, in a sense, become the character they identify with the most.

I don't know KH, but these are very cute. I'm going to study your page layouts too. I have no instinct for that and I need to learn.
In the anime of Revolutionary Girl Utena, there's a little fairy-tale introductory sequence with featureless shadow puppets, much to the same effect you're going for with the eyelessness.
