Mine normally is. However, the more work I do the more clutter I get. At the end of a big job I generally clean up.

It just means "man". Dude! What's up? It was very common in the sixties and seventies. The most common form of address between 'gentlemen' who didn't know each other. It has slowly slackened and almost died a deserved death.
