Description French:

Voici ma participation au concours de Boud-Bad-Bod-Disign. [link]

This is my entry for the contest "Tentacles", organized by Boud-
Bad-Bod-Design. [link]

The winners will be chosen by votes. You know what I think
about this system, but the theme inspired me so I tried my luck.
I invite you to have a look at the Facebook page [link] to vote for
the illustration that you think is the best, and deserves to win,
from the 26 of July.

And here is the short story that goes along with the drawing.

In the marine world, in the deepest oceans, these places still
unexplored by the human race, hide creatures whose existence
is unsuspected. Aquatic creatures such as Cecaelias live in these
deep waters, beasts with a human torso and an octopus body.
These humanoids have the ability to heal invertebrates and they
almost never go to the surface. They are very careful and do
everything to not appear to the eyes of men and are still very wary.

This young Cecaelia, called Hylion, is sixteen and lives among
octopus in an underwater prairie hidden by algae, corals and
rocks. He takes great care of his friends and treats them when
they are injured. Here Hylion is trying to heal one of his closest
companions, an octopus, eight years older than him. He was
attacked while hunting for fish by a larger predator, he quickly
hid between two rocks and waited for a sprawling to pass not to
go back alone and risking his life. Seeing his suffering friend,
Hylion came at once to healed his wound. He was fully recovered
after two days of rest.

Hylion is, for the invertebrate community, a sort of god that will
never cease to be worshiped.

This is another great work I love the pastel colours with the whole work it gives a bit this illustrative feel like if it would be from some book. You have good style for that!
I like the design of the character and also the colours for the background and the octopus as well, perfectly stands together into a larger illustration! )

Thanks a lot for your very kind compliments ! It makes me very happy ! My aunt told me I could do illustrations for books and this made me very glad. I'd love to do that by the way. Maybe one day. ^-^
This drawing took me quite a lot of time, particularly the tentacles. I hope to have a good place in the ranking.

Thanks a lot !
He would probably hide very quickly so the human being would think he dreamt.

Well... humans are everywhere on the Earth. Humans are real, but what about elves, nagas, cecaelias, demons, angels, etc ? Maybe they exist, but not on our planet. Such humanoids fascinate me. I love to live in my imaginary world, where I can escape from the real world and forget all my little problems. Moreover, these humanoids are way more interesting to draw than humans. At least for me. ^-^

I'm with you! ^^ Fantasy is more fun then reality, but as I like to say what is reality? (i got that from the show perception It's awesome!)

Indeed. We live in the real world, as we call it, and artists represent things that sometimes are not supposed to exist in this real world, but that's also possible these creatures artists paint, draw also exist somewhere else in the universe. And maybe among these creatures, artists paint or draw us, humans from the real world.
I always loved to think that way and also truly believe in the existence of other living beings.
I'm sorry, I've noticed I talk a lot these days.

Aww, that's a really interesting story! I enjoyed it like a real fairytale ^^

I find his semi-octopus shape very beautiful, also I love the waist jewellery, he's one of a few creatures who'd be able to wear such a thing around the waist without it falling off, he has sort of like a natural skirt which I find very adorable ^^

I really love the lower curve of his chest, it almost feels like he either has a feminine breast or a more sucked-in stomach, and either way I admire it a lot! It's very sexy and beautiful! And the lower belly is wonderful as well, it's so smooth and round! But of course without looking fat or anything like that. It really shows that he lived his whole life underwater with such nice beautiful curves!

And these tentacle antennas are a really interesting addition and one of my favourites in this drawing, I've never seen anything like that before but find it very beautiful ^-^

Aww ~ Thank you so much ! :3

I'm really happy to know you enjoyed both the illustration and the story.
I had not a nice day today so your compliments really make it brighter ! Thank you !

Yes, a cecaelia can wear such jewels around the waist without making it fall. It is made with corals, shells and little pearls from oysters. It would cost a lot in the human world. ^-^

I enjoyed a lot doing the tentacles even though it was veeery long to draw and colour.

I want to thank you again for your very kind comment ! It truly made me very happy !
