  Hye Rim's parents lived on a farm and were blessed with 3 sons and a daughter. As the youngest and only daughter Hye Rim was treated with more care in hopes of raising a well mannered daughter. Despite their efforts she played in the mud, caught bugs and frogs with her brothers. She was just as rowdy and "boyish" as her older brothers. In primary school, she was tall and towered over the boys in school.

  As she transitions from primary school to middle school, her rowdiness calms down in exchange for being smart mouthed and sassy. She had an "I don't care" aura around her and carried herself with confidence that attracted others to her. She had a brief encounter with a boy at school who was being bullied by a group of students and she thought that she should interfere– "It was just a sad sight to see" she thought. Hye Rim commented how immature it was to bully someone and told the students to stop bullying the boy. She waited for the group of students to leave before she spoke to him, "Don't let them bully you, you should try standing up for yourself sometime." As time went on, she noticed that the boy didn't seem to have a backbone and was bothered by his shy personality. She decided herself that she'll take care of things and stuck to herself to him as if it were her responsibility to look out for him. You could say that she felt obligated to do the right thing at first, but at the end of the day she cared about his well being as a friend. Occasionally, Hye Rim would show him different parts of the country side and all the good spots of where to catch bugs or frogs; however he was reluctant to be near the creepy crawlies. Regardless, it was fun to have Jae Hyun around and it was always filled with wholehearted laughter. Even after getting hurt for being reckless Jae Hyun was there to help with a band-aid in hand and it would cheer her up. In due time, the two of them would nurture a close innocent friendship.

  Graduating from middle school Hye Rim and Jae Hyun attended the same high school. In high school Hye Rim's appearance became more feminine, but the things that didn't change was her sassy attitude and smart mouth. Things began to change for the both of them and drifted apart as they were involved with different groups of people. Jae Hyun became more involved with sports while Hye Rim focused more on academics and clubs. However, they still had time to catch up with each other during lunch breaks. Once Jae Hyun grew in popularity so did the rumors about Hye Rim since the two of them were seen as close and those who wanted to be in Hye Rim's position wanted to be there. Her first initial reaction to the rumors was feeling stifled. As a few weeks pass by her mental fortitude began to reach it's breaking point. From time to time, things from her desk would go missing or end up in the near by trash eventually her school supplies went missing. Hye Rim checked the near by trash, bathrooms and wherever else she could think of, but she wasn't able to find it until near the end of the day, floating in the near by pond while walking back home with Jae Hyun. The feelings that she had pent up over the weeks finally boiled over as she dragged her feet to the water's edge. She couldn't recover her pens or the notebook, so she just stared. All of her hard work and effort that she put into her notes were ruined. Hye Rim was upset, frustrated and wanted to confront those who did her wrong, but before she could even do so herself, Jae Hyun was the person who addressed the students and stood up for her. She was surprised to see the quiet Jae Hyun become assertive when it came to confronting those who helped spread the rumors about their relationship. It gave the chance for Jae Hyun to be seen from the kid who didn't have a backbone to someone who stood up for another from unjustified acts.

Despite all of these major changes, she continued to think about Jae Hyun's well being and wondered if he was eating enough nutrition. Writing countless of letters that asked the same questions were never sent due to uncertainty of how the other felt. Above all, time didn't stop and continued ticking and 2 years had already passed over their heads with out a single letter.

Yet their fates were still entangled with each other. After years of no contact, they meet again unexpectedly while Jae Hyun was stationed at a shopping district as a police officer. At first she doubted her eyes and wondered if it was really Jae Hyun. The slight changes in his appearance made her unsure, but her gut was telling her that it was him. Before she could confirm the mans identity, he fled to his duty as a police officer. A second encounter was bound to happen and as a result Hye Rim didn't want to let her chance to be involved in Jae Hyun's life to slip from her fingers and took the initiative to rekindle their relationship now that she knows how close he is. After putting their efforts into reconnecting with each other the two of them eventually became a newly wed couple and were ready to live their lives together.
