I love your use of color and white space - shapes and lines. I do some work that is somewhat similar, but I've never been bold enough to combine colors to the extent you have here. Mine tend to stay a little more separate. It's also absolutely beautiful and something I would love to hang in my living room. Would love to share sometime if you're interested. -saxismyax

I think our process is always evolving. And, life's experiences give us new perspective. My two main forms of art were developed years ago. The first was a form taught by my 6th grade art teacher. I really latched onto it and developed it, naturally, into my own expression. The other was a simple form my 8th grade art teacher called "mono-chromatic" which does nothing to express the form but that it used one color. I've also developed that into my own thing, and while I have started using multiple colors in the same piece, I find your use of color very free. I'll try and get some of my art scanned and uploaded here so you can see a bit of what I do.
Right now I'm just goofing around with combining my drawing pens with colored pencils. I realize that's not an unsual mix of medium, but I've never tried it before. I usually do just one or the other.
I would say, don't be embarrassed about what you've done in the past. It's part of your history, part of who you were then, part of the process of growing into the artist you've become today. All the pieces I've seen on here are really lovely works. They're unique and each bring their own special declaration. ...and I really would like to talk turkey about getting a print of that piece to hang in my living room.
Keep working it! You do great "stuff"!!

Absolutely! Colour experimentation is fun for sure. I think my main colour knowledge comes from hairdressing (I'm a tradeswoman! Though not practicing as my job anymore), we really had to learn colour theory in hair school and I just latched right onto it. I absolutely love combining complimentary colours or contrasting ones, or ones that you wouldn't normally think go together. Yet, my favourite is still black and white contrast for my own art!
You've definitely found me at a right time on here, I'm getting very into my art like never before, and I'm in the process of making professional prints. I am not making them for profit, I just love giving my art to people so they can enjoy it.. I realised that people that like my art really get into it and dig it, and usually ask me for a piece, but it got to the point where I couldn't give away my originals anymore as they turned into something more that just doodles. I am excited that you'd like a print, I'll give you some contact info in the messages

It's beautiful, the only part I'm unsure about is the fine line scribble going on

I know, it doesn't seem to be too popular.. I had a phase of doing that to a lot of drawings. I don't do it anymore

Its beautiful, so flowingly organic, I could look at it for hours! With regard to previous comments, I would add re: scribbly curves, I think they add more 3 dimensional depth to the composition. If you left them out it might look flatter- but you should try it and see what happens.

Very cool look to this, I must say. The blended ink works very well.

Thank you! This is my first time actually trying to blend markers, and now that I got some good results, I'm incorporating it into some stuff I'm working on now...

Very nice stuff indeed! Please resubmit this off a scanner - I'd be surprised if the camera is doin' your art justice!

Thank you!!
I don't own a scanner unfortunately.... I actually did do some slight colour/contrast balances to get the photo as close to the original as possible, and it is pretty darn close lol

Thank YOU!
Color/contrast looks good, but there's flash glare just offset from the middle, and there's also some curling distortion in the piece...
Just sayin' - it's very nice - but could be better! *smile*

wow! I love the entire style and colors you chose. incredible! the one thing that kind of bugs me are the thin ballpoint-pen-looking marks that kind of spiral around the bold black lines. they don't really follow the rest of the style, but I love love love this piece anyways. great work! please keep it up!

This is a really nice piece. It has a sort of 'neopsychedelic' look to it, really nice style, and interesting composition with the color patterns and the fine lines together.

It is reminiscent of older psychedelic art while having a completely new twist.

The scribblies are a [bad] habit of mine.... Just seem to do them all the time, they show up alot on my pieces......But now that you mention it, it doesn't really fit - Thanks!
