So this is my first painting (oil on canvas), and NOT FINISHED YET.
I started working on it at the end of the spring semester when I went to visit my dad. He's the one who was teaching me how to paint and all. He's all around artistic: drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic design, etc.
Anyways. The painting is dry right now. I don't suppose I'll be working on it for a while, either. Firstly, I'm back at my moms and I don't have any supplies for painting whatsoever. Secondly, I probably won't be getting them for a long while. Thirdly, I think I'm going to be pretty busy from now on.
So this painting. It needs work on the hands and face, most definitely. Lots of work. Everything else needs bits of touch ups, but I really love this dress. Redddd. Mmmm. *lust* The background is pretty cool too, I think. It was funny. First it was this really bright aray of reds... it's actually in my scraps. I don't feel like making a link. And then my dad suggested we put something else there, like some sort of landscape... with a red sky and black clouds. So we tried it, and I wasn't too fond of it, so before the paint dried, I wiped it down with a towel and it made this. And it looks wicked. Like some kind of red weathered wallpaper.
Umm. That's all. :l Except that this has been in scraps for a long time, but no one ever looks at those. SO. Yup. Mmmhm.
