i like this one even better.
i think the slight touch of color pulls the eye to that part of it. It helps one notice how truly expressive the eyes are, and the dark contrast between them and the rest of the face.

Needless to say, i don't need to repeat myself in saying this work, by itself, is brilliant. 
Although it appears only the eyes have changed, the context has changed altogether. The previous one was really dead winter frost. This one has green eyes. I think it looks forward to spring. and is in a way warmer. happier, that is.

I do like the green, but it seems to pull the whole piece further away from the frost idea and more to 'an envy of the inner child'. I checked out the link you gave the blue eyed assassin and enjoy that piece greatly. The earthy tones are more like it. Just with the white and green you don't really get the frost effect.

plus once again, the skin's cool, though a tad bit too... rough [when lookin' at it, it kinda gives me a rough impression - not on the personality of the subject, but mainly on the skin..].. but all in all, this is too cool~!

It's looking good! Looks like you upped the contrast and/or darkened it a bit.... I think I liked the other version better though.

it seems about half the people still dig the older one, and half the people like the new one more. i'm just really happy that people are being so helpful in sharing their preferences. it's really helping me know what works in each one.
