Description I have been obsessed about painting with coffee about three years ago but have not gotten to it since. Now more and more people are into coffee painting and I thought it would be nice to try it myself. However I am not trained in visual arts and is still discovering the artist in me. The uploaded paintings are just studies on how to paint with coffee using old photos on-line (to whom I couldn't exactly trace who the author is). I thought that coffee painting seems to add a sense of antiquity to a painting and old photos are ideal subjects for studies. Someday I'll do my own composition..

Update:
I found the photographer for the photo reference of this one and the other coffee painting that I got, a certain danhipp007. I tried to contact the person through e-mail but it seems his account is inactive since 2007. These were shots from old postcards which means that the first-hand photographer may no longer be known... Oh well...

Thanks! With coffee it's just monochromatics so it is easier to achieve that palette

thanks For a while, yes. but after getting my apartment smelling like coffee, i also get tired of it, partly because i couldn't sleep as well...

I am presently doing another one. And I'm struggling in getting the proportions right so it's taking longer than I had hoped it would be, for a month now maybe. Now my apartment is soaked in coffee aroma. I have no complaints except I'm becoming insomniac I had to get it done before I kill myself for lack of sleep

I would like to see your coffee art as well

Lovely! The details are simply outstanding and the fact that you used coffee ofr it makes it look so.. sepia-like, like if it was one of those pictures grandparents keep to show to their grandchildren
