Hopefully the new anime will follow the manga more closely, the original anime didn't follow as closely because the manga was still being made when it became vastly popular so the anime was already being made by the time the first few copies of Sailor Moon manga even got off the printers c:
The popularity was so vast, it's the best selling manga in most countries across the world, with several different games, musicals, merchandise, live-action televisions series, cameos in tv, books, movie and even songs from famous artists... hell even Japan has a flower dedicated to Sailor Moon.
MY FAVORITE! God I'm so excited I have been wanting this since the copyright lawsuit ended! Hell! Before that! Don't get me wrong, I adore the original anime but being older and watching the art change from the first season to the season finale made me wish they'd do a new one with art that they have nowadays! Yey, so happy!
