So we made it to Acen 2007, despite not having a car, getting sick, and missing costume pieces. I decided that I did, after all, want to enter the masquerade, and received a lovely trophy entitling me 'Costume Master' as a reward.
Well, probably because there were 'Costume Novice' and 'Costume Journeyman' awards, too, but I like the sound of 'Costume Master.' Sounds like I should be throwing around a red and white ball and shouting 'Anti-Sora, I chose you!'
When looking back on it, neither U-E nor I can remember why we decided to suddenly do Sora and Riku costumes. As I have frequently stated in our artworks, I am mostly in loathing of Sora, and U-E swears to have no claim to the idea. We just sort of looked down one day and realized that there was a pair of Riku pants floating around the room, and that I had a Sora jacket done, and...
well, one thing led to another.
I found I rather ENJOYED running around creepily like Anti Sora, because it's my favorite of Sora's forms. Personally, if Sora got stuck in it one day, I'd be right pleased and go 'Serves you right, Sora. That's what you get for murdering people that were just trying to build their home.'

I have to admit my heart (or whatever simulation that fills that vacancy) was not entirely in the cosplay mode this day. It's been over 9 or 10 months since I cosplayed previous to this last ACen, so I kinda forgot how to pose. O_o;
Allow me to say that all garment portions on both of our costumes were made from scratch, as also were the shoes massively edited and wigs hand-styled.
Allow me also to say that it was hell, in a bad way.
I'm used to armor and props and mutated bits and painting fun, not all this intensive patterning/interfacing-ing/seam-finishing/etc. - especially all to make clothing that seems at first just store-bought. At least our zippers came in just in time for the con...
Well...we'll expand on that tale later. >XD

The jacket...it was the hardest cosplay item ever attempted for me (no one believes me compared to my "normal" stuff)
Thank you for noticing the belt, as well - it was impossible to find a pre-existing double-bar buckle, three-row pyramid stud row (with the back blank) - so I had to splice many belt parts together. Like....come on, Nomura, you could have at least afforded us a real valid belt design. XD

Nopes, we live in SC and there aren't very many here, so I guess my parents don't want us to go to any, I know its a good place to do stuff like that mayb when im 18 or something right now I am two years younger then Sora and Roxas in the 2nd KH.

*melts into a pool of misery* I was there ALL weekend; I barely EVER left, and yet, I wasn't able to witness the masterpiece that is your costumes in person. God I still feel terrible.
Anyway!
You inspired me to make a relatively jaw-dropping costume and enter it into the masquerade. A Heartless Tron Riku that really glows like Sora's does in the game. I only hope I can get my designs to come to life as well as you brought Anti-Sora to life.

what you've said still means just as much to us. ^.^
I wonder sometimes why we(or other artists, or anyone...) will spend months to years on a piece of art, especially knowing that even when its 'finished,' we'll never be happy with it.
But I think that is what makes the comments we all get so important. Knowing that someone else appreciates something...it means a lot. ^.^

Certainly, hun~I can't lie (or say it enough for that matter): this is simply one of the best cosplay renderings of any character I have seen to date.
Cospay is such a delicate line between fabulous and clinically insane, and you just /nailed/ all the right things.

Its true that its a hobby, and it is even difficult for cosplayers that I know to explain why it is they do it...but then, why does anyone draw, or paint, or write, or work on cars, or whatever it may be that they do? Its hard to define, but...
I've always said that it doesn't matter what one is doing. Whatever one does...do it the best that one can. I just...wanted to bring him to life.
I'm not satisfied with it, but I'll keep improving it...until I am. ^.^

I love your Anti-Sora! It's perfect (and I know what it means to say this about a Sora costume..).
I love the coloring of the whole cosplay and I love your face/mask! I saw many people, just coloring their face.. but a mask.. it's the first time I see it. And I love it!
Seeing you as awesome Sora (and awesome Riku!Yui by your side) makes me wanna cosplay as Sora (together with lovely Riku!Kisa) again.

Yes, I like that one, too. I had my photo-break while Riku had to pose when this one was taken xD I even didn't know about it. But it kinda looks like "You know Aerith, I don't wanna go on! I wanna quit!"or like "I never will be able to find Riku..."
I would love to come to the US, but it's so expensive. The flight itself would be about 600 €. Maybe someday I'll be able to go on holiday while there is a Convention, because Con alone would be way too expensive ;_;
