You are totally right brother, as a matter of fact now I couldn't think of a better place to spend a holiday season!
Editing one's own ideas: tough job indeed! I'm struggling with it as well-- now that I've got the time (the wonders of being out of work for a few weeks already...), I've started making notes and gathering reference materials for a possible comic project, and I have a hard time deciding what to stick to, and what to discard... The Satanville postcard series not only seems like something that could end up being a super neat collection of images, but also it could be a good way to promote the project in the internets, and why not, to try stuff out that could end up being in the comic? In any case, it's a great idea.
Hey, I just realize I already have that guy on my watch list, but I hadn't seen the "Hidden Iceland" from the link you sent! Pretty cool! I totally get the impression that because of the sense of design that clearly shows in your work, your imagery and ideas would be a natural fit for multimedia projects, if you decide to give them a shot at some point (if you haven't done so already).
Do you use programs like Flash or After Effects? I don't know how to develop interactive content using software such as Flash, but from what a friend once told me, it can be learnt in little time. Maybe one could apply those skills to web design and video game projects...

Yes, that was the plan the problem is I don't know how to spread it over the internet, the most stuff I tried to get a little attention doesn't work out. I think my stuff isn't made for a wide audience, I keep saying to myself it dosen't matter I'm doing it for myself but at the end of the day frustration and doubt paralyses me.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words brother! I do not use Flash or After Effects now, somewhere in the comments section is a tutorial and it 's reffering to Flash. I will learn the programm asap! I made a background video for a theater play in flash once, nearly 7 years ago but I remember I learned the essentials in a few days, can't be that hard then
I think flash is mostly done for animations on the web, html5 and css can do the most parts by themself. like this for example: www.fontwalk.de/ imagine doinig a webcomic like that? - carefully used, it could be a neat surprize or shock element, the basic idea has a lot of potential init

I don't know how to spread stuff on the internet either, brother-- I put the drawings online (here, at facebook, etc) and hopefully people start sharing it. I feel the same way about my stuff not feeling like something that would appeal to a large audience, but that said, I kind of "made peace" (!) with that, on one hand because I guess it's next to impossible to predict what is it that a large number of people would dig, and on the other hand because I think that if I started working in what I think would be popular, I really wouldn't like my own work, so at this point of my life I'm okay with trying to do what I like, and just hope for the best.
That "FontWalk" website is terrific, man! The "speeding road" blew my mind! And I agree completely, it would be supercool to make a webcomic like that-- do you know those "Choose your own adventure" books from the 80s? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choose_Yโฆ I really liked those as a kid, and seeing this website and the idea you mention to use it as a reference for a webcomic, makes me think that there could be a bit of an interactive thing to it, in order to engage people into the story... in any case, like you said, there's certainly a lot of potential to it.

Then start writing the wishes here at dA, brother! Do you have a tumblr account? I think there's probably more people sharing stuff they like over there than on any other website (at least that I know of).
About developing some project: deal! I've got no idea right now what we could do, and how to develop it, but since when does that stop people like us?
It's been years since I have last read a "Choose your own adventure" book, but the device was as simple as: little scenes that ended in some sort of cliffhanger. And then you had multiple choices that would allow the reader to "interact". For example:
Say, we have an scene which ends with the characters arriving at 3 doors: red, green and blue.
Multiple choices would be:
A- If you want to enter the red door, go to page 35 of the book.
B- If you want to enter the green door, go to page 56.
C- If you want to enter the blue door, go to page 9 (page number could go back and forth, and the scenes were written in a way that they could use more than once, unless it happened something like the character ended up being eaten by an alien dragon or whatever that didn't make it possible to continue with that device and the reader had to start again-- sort of like a "game over" in video games ).
Maybe there's something in that device that we could borrow and apply to an internet project?
In any case, I'll try investigating on how to do some of the stuff that they made at the "FontWalk" page, and try to think of stuff for the project. One way to approach this could be coming up with a list of stuff that we can do (or can learn how-to) and see what ideas these brings... or we could think of some loose storyline and then figure out how to tell it in an engaging way... In any case, yeah, we've got to do something!

Man, the damn provider changed their politics, instead of sending dunning letters they shut
down the internet connection entierly when the payment doesn't arrive super exactly That
and some girl trouble made it difficult to reply in time, sorry for that brother!
I don't have a tumblr account yet and no facebook eighter. I use pinterest quite often but
the best blast came from Illustration Mundo, it runs by Nate Williams (awesome illustrator
btw!) mainly to feature new and unkown illustrators. You only see a clickable thumbnail at
the frontpage which is directly linked to your site. It's not that much but very very good
traffic, I got handfull of job offers, collabs, and people who want to print my stuff in
their magazines and whatever products! I had some troubles with my account and wrote to
Nate about it, he checked back, fixed the problem and featured me and my project on the
frontpage in the main category, what a great guy! www.illustrationmundo.com/ Besides
that I reactivated me old behance account and dang, 72 new followers in a week!
I be honest with you, I'm probably the most lazy, unreliable, controlled by fluent changing
mood swings person you've ever met. That's the main thing I have to work on, if I ever want
to be successful with anything. Well, besides that I really want to get a little deeper in
that animation and interactive stuff, learning flash and after effects by all that means.
I love your ideas!!! Fuck yeah! That would be the greates thing ever, and I'm sure there is a marked for this! No webcomic reading experience came close to a book, ugly pdf, loveless scrolling sites, you know that shit, the haptic feel is so important but this could be something even better, really big! You've been warned with whom to deal with^^ so, I wouldn't mind if you share those ideas with more reliable people too.

Hey brother, apologies for the delay in replying! First I've been running around to make a deadline, and then I've been lazy with checking out the internet. Sometimes I can be one of the laziest people I know. By the way, I'm sorry to hear about the girl trouble you mentioned-- hope things are better by now.
That's supercool about the guy who runs Illustration Mundo, Nate Williams (I didn't remember his name, but checking his website, I realized I already knew his work, which is great!), about featuring your work in the front page! (and totally deserved, I have to add ) Actually, I saw the feature when I first read your message, and while I haven't spent much time browsing the I.M. website, I certainly heard about it many, many times through the years, so I'm aware it must have a big following-- needless to say, it's always a great thing when something like this brings job offers, etc.
Also good to hear about the Behance thing! I had started an account over there some 4 years ago, but it's totally abandoned! I should probably follow your example, and reactive it, to see what happens!
About the interactive (!) project, no worries at all, as you can see, I'm lazy as well (not that I'm proud of that... gotta fix that, too ), so you are not alone in that one! But seriously, since we don't have a deadline, or any obligations, and we are not even sure of what we are going to do, and how to resolve some of the technical issues that we might (and most likely, will) have to face if going on with this project, we can start work as time/mood/circumstances allow, and whatever the result, it should be a good learning experience!
Glad you like that "Choose your own adventure" device, I think it could work nicely-- I've got to finish some comic pages, which I will probably wrap up by the weekend, and then will write down some possible ideas, nothing definitive of course, but simply will try to think of some options, to evaluate how we could approach such a project, and as soon as I get to do that, I will send you some notes to see how to continue. Needless to say, if you get to come up with something before I do, just let me know-- one way or another, I think we'll get to make something which is hopefully pretty cool and fun to create!

Yay, laziness! But also a lot passion for the work, great things take time, you've said it. It's winning combo, man! I agree with you, in any way! I haven't started yet, but I will write down some of my thoughts too this weekend. Better by email then? mine is 1upnimrod@gmail.com I have some troubles with DA resently, possible that those kids screw the whole site up with their messy updates and everything get lost forever^^ Your "Choose your own adventure" device is just perfect! It's so great that you see the possibilitys too and spin on the initial thought so well, this happen not so much often, ya know?!
Yeah, the trouble is over, permanently the story goes:
from this into that
was almost a fluent switchover within a few weeks^^
I find out that behance kinda sucks, since I've published there some stuff I receive a lot of cheap emails from fashion industry start-ups who want to pay me with their amount of facebook fanpage followers by mention me, the more generous put in a shirt from their shop. I'm getting weary of sending pics of me middle finger in return, brother! Ironically, the guy on the street actually paid more money for a single shirt than you get for the whole job I would prefer eating pasta with ketchup for the rest of my life, better than selling myself so cheap and making assholes drink champagne.

Actually I was going to tell you about handling this via e-mail, and completely forgot when I sent the message! My e-mail address is: tripodi.diego@gmail.com
That's a totally spot-on description of the girl trouble situation.
I had received e-mails with similar proposals through the years (only one from a fashion business, though), and whenever I reply to them with a diplomatic "no, thank you, but we can do this for X amount of money as a payment for the work", they wouldn't even reply. I'd rather eat pasta for the rest of my life as well (actually, I think I literally had cheap pasta most days of 2007 and 2008, so I'm living proof that one can survive that! ). On the positive side, I kind of see these kind of situation as a sign of that when there's no decent paid work around, then it simply means that one's got to create their own jobs/projects.
