I am Culinary Joey. I am Junior at Scarlet Oaks and I am doing Culinary Arts.Truth is I am not actual Junior but I am 2014 graduate from Sycamore but my diploma will be hold until 2016 which means I am class of 2016 with younger students . How I got to Scarlet Oaks? Good questions for me in my final years in H.S . I was undecided which college I go to until early Feb of last year I sign up for Great Oaks. I was to be computer which did not work out then I tryout for restaurants operations at Live Oaks which too easy and I want some career challenge not this and sports rehab which is not turn out to be and the class is full .I have no choice to be Culinary Arts.
I thought is hard for me in this class. But I pull trough some work and I passed Servsafe last year, Prostart Level 1 test this year and I did well in Cooking Practical this year.
I see me in culinary is group to cook something, serves at gallery which is my favorite, knife skills, cleaning up, jump in which is to help some body out in any positions, doing school work and safety other than cooking, and cooking on their own.
My feeling in this program is awesome but sometimes when I try to jump in if people needed help or wanted to assist more with my group which they say I got this which make me feel odd but oh well and I have to find another one.
I see some people saying negative in kitchen such as I don't like chef and Chef is r word. It happens to me I was 14 years old, a person call me r word and my feeling is crush and some of them think I won't achieve anything such as driver license which I prove them wrong which I got my driver licenses last year.
I thinking people need to reduce saying negative things and more team work in kitchen.
I will be a leader not follower and next year I will try best I could in my second year.
