Thanks for your comment. The light you see is a reflection of the sun. I wasn't standing above the flower, I was looking at it straight on. that means that the light was coming from up and to the right. thanks again for your comment.

Hi!
I am glad you liked my painting!
The salt was tossed on after laying down the paint.
It the water area it give a little 'look' of foam.
In the shrubbery aread larger salt was applied to
wet paint to give the look of leaves.
Its a widely used technique, was just rather new
and experimental to me.
