Hey, you're welcome! I help run an animator's club at the college both me and The-R3d-Painter go to. We actually have our next meeting tomorrow. I'll ask everyone there if they know any good animation resources we can put up, and maybe we can start posting the animation collaborations we're starting there soon.

Thanks for reminding me about that. I hadn't completely forgotten, but I'm trying to decide whether I'm going to use the sketch I previously made (there are things I don't like about it, and it would be hard to shade traditionally at this point despite it being on nice bristol paper) or do a new one. It was easy to put off. What do you think, should I try something else?

Well, currently, "something I'm not happy with" applies to ALL of my art (except for stupid chibi-style crap I'm tired of drawing anyway) so that distinction doesn't matter that much, but okay. I'll try some new composition ideas and get back to you via email.

Well, since I don't want to launch into a long whiny explanation that might result in my possibly confusing artistic drive with pathological insecurity, I'll just say that it's not good for an artist to get complacent. I have ideas in my head of how I want things to look, and they aren't coming out right. It's a brick wall every artist runs into, but I can derive motivation from the fact that those feelings are always the worst on the verge of a breakthrough.
The other part of the problem is that I don't do enough with RL friends— I found a week ago that when I'm with a group of people and we're all creating stuff, I can get a lot done, but when I sit at home and try to work then the (metaphorical) voices inside my head get too loud and vicious, and I just want to withdraw from everything. I'm looking into getting help for this.

Naw, thank you for the kind words. Man, I need to push myself to make something as epic as that piece again? I've been slacking with my recent artwork and it shows.

Lolol about the contest sucking up though. I and *oakendragon deliberately chose a rather specific, detailed rubric, and we're grading them double-blind (we each score them separately and then add them up when we're done) in an attempt to eliminate personal bias. That's part of why it's taking so long (another is that I am a procrastinator/poor time manager and she has a heavy course load).

Yesterday. Heh, I did hear that your part of the world doesn't get it for about two more weeks, which is kinda stupid. You think after 10+ years, Game Freak would find ways to consolidate their localization efforts.
Oh yeah, definitely get an event Arceus if you can. It's really awesome to have a baby space-time dragon follow you around from lvl 1 (though I'm finding its stat scaling a little too uber for the rather easy main story). I dunno about Dialga and Giratina, but Palkia's sprite is adorable.

Gotta love TVtropes I go there hoping to look up infos on different character archetypes and then stay for hours reading the rather entertainingly written examples.

I'm actually done with my side of the evaluations? I wisely got them out of the way this past week so that I could play the game without procrastination guilt. Now I'm waiting for *oakendragon to finish writing hers-- she's scored less than half of them.

I do that too, it's completely eating up my bandwidth time Because every example has at least three interesting-looking links on it, which take you somewhere else, and then somewhere else, till eventually you're just reading for the heck of it... I do like Troper Tales though, I just love hearing real-life anecdotes and that's full of them

Yeah... the Arceus itself is kind of lame, though, because it comes at level 100 and therefore can't be EV trained beyond vitamins. I hope they hand out Azure Flutes via wi-fi like they did for the Shaymin and Darkrai items.

Some Troper Tale pages are better than others? a lot of examples on those pages are more self-indulgent than anything else.

Seriously, though, this is pretty stupid. It should not take longer to judge the contest than we gave the entrants. The two of us look like giant hypocrites. =/ Also, I wanted to start a second, Pokémon-related contest, but can't until this one has been fully concluded.

Yeah, I lurk a lot. I didn't really want to post anything new until the contest stuff is finished, but I have a journal and some comic pages in the works.

Oh no, it's fine. I, personally, am going to try to get all the judging evaluations finished by the end of the week, because I simply can't trust myself to manage my time after HGSS comes out.
I don't know about *oakendragon though, and we can't finish the judging until we both do that. I don't think you guys will have to wait too much longer, though.

I don't have commission prices up, sorry, but if you're interested in commissioning me I can try to get them figured out in a timely manner. However, I don't think I can actually accept any more commissions until I get some personal issues resolved, so in any case you'd have to wait.
