Headcanons:
Ivan's spirit has been broken by the crushing loneliness after dissolution of the Soviet Union, and he isn't eager to cause conflict.
He'll take almost any abuse inflicted, but there ARE some things he won't stand for, even with his loss of self-image.
He can sometimes be a little sarcastic and will occasionally force a smile, but he's usually melancholy and a little nervous.
He's sometimes so miserable that he'll forget to eat, or go for weeks without sleep, and has developed a very slight nervous stammer.
