Yeah, I kinda wanted to go looking for someone together with the Gardevoir cosplayer but I didn't want to seem like I was stalking or being annoying or anything since we hadn't known each other until then. But I'll hopefully be going as Gallade next year and maybe we can get all four!

It will be really fun if I can figure out a way to make extendable blades, but I'm still milling over how to do it. I think the con might have me mark them as weapons and put one of those plastic tags on them whether they're attached to my costume or not, heh.
There definitely weren't as many pokemon as last year. Me, Gardevoir, Buizel, Magikarp, Pikachu, and then a couple trainers, an Ash and a Hilda, are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head (Well, the ones that were their own cosplays, anyway, outside of the ears they were selling that were everywhere)

Try making them out of upholstery foam? Depending on how long you want the blade, it might be a bit flimsy though..
Yeah that was kind of disappointing. I wish I could have made a pokemon outfit for this year, but that didn't happen. I'm planning on doing one for next year, though! Maybe they'll be more next year.

I've decided to make them out of stiff cardboard tubes wrapped in green fleece - with one tube slightly smaller than the other and the fleece to pad it, they can slide in and out without falling out, actually making them extendable. Out of all the gallade cosplays I've looked up online I've yet to find one that actually had extendable blades so I'm pretty excited!
What pokemon are you planning on doing? I remember you mentioned Cobalion a while ago

I haven't really seen any Gallade cosplayers, so you'll probably be the first one I see.
Actually I've been working on a Zorua fursuit for the past couple weeks. I wanted a full suit, rather than just being part human. I didn't know how Coballion would work like that, so I switched over to Zorua.

Ah, yeah, Zorua would be a good fursuit! I admire your ability to make something like that, can't wait to see it.
I did find a couple full-suit versions of the ralts line as I was browsing, but I'm not at the level of sewing skill where I could make that kind of thing, not to mention the ones I found were kind of... uncanny. I figure it's human shaped enough as is, so really the only things I'm leaving out are the enormous eyes (which I might compensate for with shades or something) and the donut hips, haha.

Yeah. I mean I've seen a bunch of Zoroark fursuits, but like little to no Zoruas. To be honest this is my first fursuit ever and I hope it doesn't come out too bad.
Ah, yeah, I know what you mean. I'm only an ameteur at sewing myself. But yeah some of them.. Uhh yeaahh. Human shaped ones are always easier. Ahaha, I love the donut hips. Human shaped is also much easier to form because well it already looks human. It wouldn't take as long to make either.
I'm actually thinking about doing a Rhydon later on if I'm not awful at fursuiting. Of course that'd be really hard though haha.

I've seen one or two zoroarks online, but I've never come across a zorua fursuit either. I haven't seen many pokemon at conventions in general outside of pikachu (seriously, at Tora Con last year I saw pikachu costumes everywhere and maybe... five or so other pokemon).
Rhydon would be good too, I don't think I've ever seen a costume of it. I was just thinking about what a Rhyperior costume would be like the other day actually. Though my next costume, if I ever get round to it, will probably be a Galactic grunt.

Yeah, I thought it'd be fun to try doing. And yeah, most people seem to be unoriginal with the whole Pikachu thing.. It'd be nice to see a bunch of other Pokemon instead of a hoard of Pikachu.
I haven't either. I was inspired by an Aggron suit, actually. Rhyperior would probably be a bit more difficult with everything that it has on its body.. But yeah. Rhydon might be my next one, or maybe even a Luxray quadsuit.
A Galactic grunt sounds fun too. Strangely I've never thought about cosplaying actual trainers?

I didn't until recently, but thinking about it I see a lot of Rocket Grunts and the occasional Magma, but not many from the other teams. One of my main fan characters is in Galactic so I thought it'd be be fun to do... and I've cosplayed as a good five pokemon now, so I figure I'll take a break and be the one throwing the pokeballs for once.
A luxray quadsuit would be interesting, though I have no idea how they work. Do you need two people for them?

Nope, just one person. It's basically a fursuit with stils for front paws, so it looks like all four legs look equal in size. Since your legs are longer than your arms you need that extra few inches to add so you'd look like an actual animal.

Yeah, the Magma outfits are really fun as well. I guess I'm just partial to Galactic's color scheme (turquoise and grey are my favorite colors) and I loved the whole distortion world thing, haha.
