Thank you so much (:
I've recently started getting into traditional art, and I'm so excited. I've been looking up a whole lot of talented coloured pencil artists - and its really inspiring how amazing talented some of you are. I aspire to be as good as you one day, may I ask, did you have any professional training?, and are you aspiring to assume a career in art?
TBH, I'm in grade 11 and thinking of my future career path and Art teacher sounds like it would be a lot of fun for me.

I love traditional art just because of pure physicality of it. When I finish a piece, I'm always in shock that it came from my hands. I still don't know how it happens. It makes me really glad to hear that people enjoy my art (and I wish I had more time to do more! Being a full time student with a job is hard!). I have learned to draw purely through practice and personal learning from my mistakes (no professional training). It has taken a long time but I have greatly improved since I started. I was so proud of my first realistic portrait in 10th grade. Looking at it now, it is absolutely horrible and I have no idea how I thought it looked good. But it has shown me how much I have grown as an artist. I used to suck with colors, but now color theory fascinates me! I am currently an Art History/English double major and am thinking of pursuing teaching, although I am unsure what I would teach. Being an art teacher has always sounded fun to me as well. I would love to see what you have been working on with traditional mediums, I can see you have a lot of creativity and talent!

Thanks for the advice. Yah, I feel the same way about creating "Physically there" art, its different in comparison to digital in my opinion. Its there, I can touch it, and I can move it around. It is also a great feeling to know that something Beautiful, came from your hands.
At the moment, I dont have a scanner sadly; but when I do, Ill be more than happy to show you what I've made (:
Right now I'm currently working with Crayola pencil crayons, a pack of markers from the dollar store; but i want to try out watercolour possibly.

I am so impatient and have issues with watercolors because I always make them bleed together It's quite sad. But good luck with your experimentation with watercolors! (I'm sure you'll do better than me. You MUST have patience in order to work with pixels [they would drive me nuts]).

haha, yah.. waterclours seem rough, but it seems like a nice medium to create well blended colours P:.. I dont always like the scratches I see when I use my crayolas -o-
And yah haha, pixels were rough ; I plan to get back to them when my skills become more advanced though (:.
AND DUDE.. in a turn of events.. we had to buy a new printer..it has a scanner (: XD,, * does happy dance.
So yah, some of my work is at school,in captivation by the art teacher atm.. but I have some stuff I can scan too (:. When I have the time Ill scan those up real quick and upload them (:
*As a doller (pixel term), im always up critique, so if U have any, u can tear my pieces to part *when I upload them ^.^

I look forward to see the work (I specifically bought a printer with a scanner so I could have one ). In terms of scratch marks with colored pencils, I would recommend drawing very lightly and then just building up layers of color. That's the best way to prevent scratching. Also, I use Prismacolor pencils, which blend almost like paint although they are pencils. They're expensive, but in my opinion are totally worth it if you like working with color. I hated color before I bought these colored pencils and now I prefer it to charcoal and graphite!
