Very few images ever capture that brief moment before a storm breaks. This is one of them.
There is so much unbridled power, and the angel seems to be caught between two places at once. Is he taking off or just lightly descending? The facelessness of the angel, as well as his unsheathed sword, the position of his wings, the pensive attitudes of the mob around him, all come together to create an image brimming with tension.

Astounding! Looking at the brush strokes, I'd say you spent a lot of time customizing your tools before getting started on the painting. They appear textured, yet sharp. And the excellent contrast, the proportions. Truly excellent.
