I love the industrial feel of this piece. It makes me think of "ancient" alien technology often seen in sci-fi movies and shows.

Spot on !

My influence probably comes from games like Half-Life, Doom & so on, where you have to get from the guts of some massive installation or spaceship to the surface, crawling endlessly thru vents & stacks & are often confronted with these choices of seemingly impossible ways out.

While yr thunkin - yeah I thort microchips, steam punk or valve goth - but then saw the view up the stacks, and down, so....HalfLife interchangable....
