Etching with aquatint. Blue litho ink with black etching ink on light blue paper.I was listening to REM's "Nightswimming" when this popped into my head and i used the pose from my relax shirts [link] which were in turn based on the wonderful Dinocat's work [link]
The aquatint looked different in my head and i may do another verision in soft ground just to see the difference.

Of all your versions of this print I love this the most, I know it's not exactly complex in it's colouring, but the simplicity of the single colours means you pick out all the detail of the shades and tones, and of course the beautiful line art. You've caught a shard of that songs meaning, not an easy thing to do, and done it beautifully.

I had a feeling these had something to do with the song (one of the most beautiful ones ever written in my opinion). Love all the iffrent textures and how you do the joints and fingers. I haven't had the chance to do prints myself but I've always loved the look of ink.

This is a really interesting print. It flows well and keeps the eye within the boundary of the darker blue nicely. I like your style of characters, and you have an excellent grasp on the technique of etching.

Now this is moody. I've always liked swirly lines in a drawing, and they work well here, creating a "watery" atmosphere. Your style reminds me of some famous comic artist, but I can't remember exactly who... Too bad.
The coloring is nice, have you done it with computer or by yourself (more respect if without computer)? The figures are greatly done, too, enchancing the atmosphere of the picture. Dreamy drowning.
I could go on whether this is a sad or a happy picture, but that would just take me weeks.
If I'd have to give you critique, I'd say that the censorship of "private areas" could have been done a bit more originally. I think the best option would have been to forget the censorship completely.

the colouring is done using a process called aquatint, its a chemical that you put on the etching plate and depending on the range of tones you want you keep dipping it in acid. That's what gave the range of tone and the colour it's self is litho ink which is like fly paper and a bitch to wipe of the plate but when i printed this just using black etching ink it didnt feel right [you can get different coloured etching inks but the lab i pay to use only stocks black and brown all the other colours are litho inks] It's printed on a light blue paper as well which adds to it.

It's soo beautiful, the sad colors you used with your surrealistic style is just amazing. The amount of emotins expressed is also gregeous. The pale and deep contrastof colors is simple amazing. I love thecharacter's expression. The amount of details is simply superb! I really enjoythe hair. And the style of the moon is simply...so original and creative!
