Story time
Following the solemn, grey days of the Hungary Phase, crossing into Austria brought an entirely different change of weather. The skies cleared up and the bleak winter sun flared up into a white-gold radiance that set the terrain ashimmer with tiny sparkles. The snow here grew heavier and more duvet-like in quality as the teams ascended up the mountain trails and through the forests that clung to the foothills and lower mountain trails. Indeed, this landscape could only be described in the likeness of 'textbook winter wonderland' or perhaps 'skiing post card'. The mountains certainly cut a striking figure against the bright, clear heavens. For Kaisa, having lived in Denmark for so long, the mountains brought a sense of nostalgia - they reminded her of her native Sweden, where she had so often trekked in the summer and skiied in the winter. This feeling was strangely rejuvenating to her and it was just the energy boost she needed.
The change of horse had an impact too - while Sagadir was a flashy and interesting ride, Hilas was far superior in terms of getting from one point to the other without any fuss. Once the copper-sheened mare was on her way, she tended to stay on that course, never wavering, never faulting. She was an excellent pick for the second part of the route, showcashing her endurance experience and proving why she was dubbed 'the endurance queen' of Zdarloch Stables.

....all with the exception of one thing, thought - her fear of water. Hilas was absolutely unamused when Kaisa decided to follow a mountain stream further up; even more so when she had to cross THROUGH it. Unspeakable horror! The mare made sure to snort her disapproval.

...SECOND White December phase completed! *shaking from fear of approaching deadline I'm not gonna make*
I'll be honest; I'm not... sure I'm liking how this came out. The water is CRAP and it pains me, but I have too much stuff to finish these days, so I'm just gonna leave it like this... :'D
I'll be away for the majority of next week, that's why I'm panicking ^^'

ANYWAY.
Ah yes, Hilas is the ENDURANCE MACHINE of Zdarloch Stables, so she gets to power through phase 2 and hopefully make good time, heh.

...I think Kaisa has grown attached to her rifle, btw. She likes posing with it for the camera :'D
