)Now, this is my first serious attempt at making a pencil portrait of anything else than a horse. Which basically makes this my first portrait of a person! Huzzah! ^__^

Absolutely breathtaking! The amount of detail, good Lord that is amazing... There are few things I can lay finger on, and the main one of them is something I doubt I even can. Your source of lighting is off, yet only by few matters... I don't know if it's just the scanner messing things up, or if it's actually a slight mistake of yours. The way the lighting is made at (our) left side of her forehead makes it look a little deform, considering the rest of her head. Otherwise I'd say you maintain the balance well! ^^ Great applause from a critical viewer ^^

Ah yes, you're right about the lighting source.. it's a little nonsensical x'D Unfortunately I can't blame my scanner for that, heh. The only excuse I can conjure up is that it's an old drawing... and that's a pretty lame excuse, so maybe I should just stop excusing it alltogether, heh
But yay, thank you very much! Wrinkles are such a challenge to do, so I'm glad to hear it looks okay

Call it a progressive drawing and you're excused. You did your best at that time, and it's only natural to make mistakes
