i was never sure what he is wearing on his head... nothin? bandana? it's hard to see in the movie. i got an newer/altern. version with bandana. maybe i post it....

Oh...hmm.  To me it looks like the badly worn remnants of a kerchief?  Like the hem looks like it's visible right above the brow and the tattered cloth to one side  Maybe some hair as well?
