Inktober #5 featuring one of the most powerful mecha of all. With a mind of its own, formed by the collective souls of an ancient civilization, the Giant God is a weapon that responds in self-defense based on the moral judgement it subjects it's pilot to, while plotting to pass judgement on the entirety of the human race. Able to cleave planets in half with its infinite sword, destroy enemy fleets with its cosmic gun and missile barrage, and even create black holes, the Ideon is sought by the greedy and power-hungry fools who believe themselves exempt from its judgement, little do they know what this mighty giant will do to them.

Released in 1980, this series hasn't aged well, but along with Go Nagai's Devilman is one of the main inspirations for Evangelion. If you don't feel like watching the whole thing there's also a compilation movie for the series, which I haven't seen but it probably isn't as effective as the show in making you care for the characters. Still, along with the ending movie "Be Invoked" it remains a story worth telling.
