Description Untitled for now - personal work, 2013.

This is an improvised digital kind-of-painting in a semi-abstract style I made for fun in Photoshop. I brought my Intuos4 from work for the first time the night I made this, and I had to see how it works with my laptop. I’ve really, really needed to not think in 3D, not to think about what goes where, what’s this and what’s that, I ended up just laying down shapes, lines etc.

Like the previous personal work, Rig City, this is full of implied detail, with parts almost completely geometric and abstract. I like it. Maybe one day I continue refining, who knows. I like the artistic aspect of this.

I'm curious how you did this, did you lay down shapes in grey scale then color after or what? Would have loved to see a video of how you did this

I am ahhhhhmazed at how that came out.  I have ever approached this before and would love to experiment with this kind of digital abstraction making.  Exactly what art software did you use and the general method?

I only used Photoshop. As for the method, I made some custom geometric brushes and shapes out of squares, rectangles and circles, used lasso tool a lot, flipped and rotated the canvas very often to see the work from different angles. Selected chunks of it, copied and played with blend modes. That's it, as far as I remember.

holy fuckfest
now This is some clear DD material
(only those grey circles in the middle there are too much of an eyecatcher and not genius enough to catch the view i feel; id get rid of at least one of them or change them a bit)

awesome work

Tumblr is really cool for art too, there are a ton of art collection blogs and artists you can follow, it's really good. Though most of people I know use tumblr for porn and stupid hippie hipster brokenhearted shit. xD Just kidding, you can find and post all kind of things there.

Tumblr radar is like DD on dA, a small daily selection for all the users to see on their pages.

I looked at this and I liked it immediately because of the lines... They are so abstract and yet your mind uses the lines and fills in the empty spaces

I like it! Makes me think of work by Gerhard Richter, the German painter that is one of my favourite painters.

Excellent! It reads like an abstract palette knife painting at first, and then the eye is drawn in to try to create some kind of sense out of randomness. Very intriguing

You're too kind. It's a very nice comment, thanks, it means much to me. I was aiming for this effect, not to be obvious, to let you people see what you want, kind of finish it in your mind.
