I've finally drawn my redesign of Clockwork.One of the biggest problems I've had with Ben 10: Ultimate Alien was that alot of the aliens looked more robotic than organic when they probably weren't meant to, aliens like Water Hazard, Armodrillo, Terraspin, Clockwork, and Eatle. Luckily, Omniverse fixed this problem for Water Hazard and Eatle. But I've come up with new design for a more organic Armodrillo fav.me/d4yuqxw and Terraspin fav.me/d5rq1au . Now I've finished doing Clockwork.
I also reimagined his species history, Chronosapiens weren't always know by that name. They used to be Geohdsapiens, rock creatures with crystal-like insides. Their planet was jettisoned from its galaxy when their sun exploded and sent the planet to edge of the galaxy. There, time flowed in all directions and not just forward. Geohdsapiens learned to manipulate time and bend it to their will. With this new ability, they evolved into metallic creatures and their crystals now reflect tachyons from one crystal to the next until it is unleashed.
I've also redone his powers since the ones on the show aren't impressive. Clockwork has only scratched the surface of what Chronosapiens could do. He can create and expand a chronosphere and manipulate anything caught inside it. Clockwork possesses Precognition and Postcognition, though both are limited to lasting for one minute.

I did tell you what I did with Clockwork awhile back...but I think this could be a good time to talk about how far his time powers can go...
fOr one...I think these guys (Chronosapiens) could be related to Chornians in that they crossed paths many times. I am thinking that Chronosapiens are actually time-traveling beings who keep tabs on the multiverse as a whole. You know, making sure time and space are at a god standing and they pause time to fix anything that has gone wrong (Sort of like the Time Squad...only less lkely to be interfering in stuff) and helps keep tabs on the Universe. Maltruant was a rogue one and many of them had to take htem down and aided in sealing the Chronians away.
Basically..they're like the Doctor's species in a odd way. Heck, maybe one willingly gave Azmuth his species' DNA to help make sure things can be dealt with (And likely keep Chronian DNA out if it's unlocked in the Omnitrix)

I don't mind some aliens of ben being mechanical in nature.
It kind of worked for Maltruant, even if Omniverse was lackluster, Maltruant was a coold villain and endign up inΒ a time lop was a fitting punishment

I don't either, it's aliens that look fully robotic that I kinda have a problem with. I want to be able to see some hint of being organic in the design.

Because it makes me wonder how did they even get to the point of being mostly robotic without getting an explanation behind it. With cybernetic aliens like Frankenstrike, it's assumed that they're an alien species that have to keep their body in one piece through stitching and cybernetic implants. Also it makes me wonder how the omnitrix transitions organic DNAΒ to mechanical. (Upgrade kinda gets a pass in my book because he is made of nanobotsΒ which acts as the DNA to his body as it is a machine made of smaller machines and so on.

I did a redesign sketch of him here [link] . It's not his final design but it's the direction I wanna take him in. I'll probably draw him next. And yeah the original does have really floppy arms

I originally didn't plan to redesign any omniverse aliens because I think they're really cool, but now I really curious to try and redesign some. Which ones do you think should be redesigned and what are their flaws. My fan goggles are keeping me from seeing anything.

I might try that but I already got my own version of Jury Rigg called Tech Devil that looks more gremlin like. If I drew him I'd make him a bit more buglike, but probably not a mantis, it'll remind me of my own alien Slay Mantis. Amphibian could be more of challenge because I'm not sure how to make him more jellyfish like. Yeah there are alot of Electric aliens, but I'd let some of them keep their powers but with some added differences between them. Shocksquatch could have an electric touch and emit a small emp(thats why no one's been able to get a picture of one), Buzzshock can still tranform into lightning, Feedback can manipulate more types of energy besides electricity, and Benvicktor is ok to me.
Yeah I saw X-Men First Class it's one of my favorite CBMs. Sucks what happened to Darwin, though.

I'll see if I could work on an adaptive alien. Seems like an awesome concept but one that also needs to be handled well or it could go bad real fast.

I think I'll make him have defensive/environmental adaption. I don't want to give him too much power or else why else would you use any other alien when you can get so many powers/uses out of this one.

Yeah I'm thinking that near flames he'll secrete an oil that when heated to levels of fire will absorb the oxygen and put out the flames around him. Gills plus webbed hands and feet. I thought he'd be humaniod too. He'd probably be all white or grey kinda like Darwin from the comics.

Finally A clockwork that doesn't suck!
Now while I haven't gone looking for designs of him on the internet every version I have seen on the show sucks!
Also for the fans of official clockwork allow me to say I like steampunk and clock/gearpunk a lot but the Ben 10 use of it doesn't use those qualities well. Unfortunately this includes the new Paradox which I can't fathom how they made his design seem to clash!
Also your evolutionary and historic background makes this design even more interesting!
So all in all great job and keep doing what your doing!

Yeah in every design I've seen by others they never wanna stray from his original look, so it just ends up being a copy, which sucks cause his original design is terrible.
I only like the Paradox's new look for two reasons, I'm a big Doctor Who fan and his look takes elements from some of the Doctors and also because his old look was a little bland for a time traveler.
I like to include that to show reasons for a certain alien's anatomy when it might not make sense by looking at it.

See I haven't watched much doctor who but what I love about him and paradox is the personality type they share, Vague, close to all knowing in some subjects and cheerfully insane/eccentric.
In short they have a personality I enjoy, in a category with Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, the Mask and the Mad Hatter(though the dark knight movie has made me add the joker in here he doesn't quite fit).
