Description Hazell is one of the main female characters that has an extremely progressive roll in the story. I'm actually excited about this character considering she is being based off a current person I have seen (which will remain nameless for the time being). The person is indeed one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my lifetime, which is bold to say but that is not the only attribute the character will possess. I am not shallow minded in thinking "beautiful" people have better rolls as characters, even in fiction, a woman doesn't need to have bigger breasts to be a great character, I think it's solely how they are introduced and conducted in the storyline.

I don't want to give too much away for this character, hopefully I will get some more concepts up soon and some full body sketches. I am still working on the clothing design for this character as for the entire cast, so it is going to be some tedious work ahead of me.

What I can say about the character and what we notice thus far is her elegant/long hair. Her eyes are piercing but in no way am I trying to create a vampire type of look.

Looking fantastic so far. Its odd to say, but it might actually be a shame to paint this. Maybe its like black and white photography-- sometimes less is more. I'm sure it'll be splendid when its done, and I NEVER use the word splendid O_o

You are the only person I know who may actually benefit from one of those Wacom tablet screens. I don't totally agree with you about PS though. It can be a mask for the lack of skill (*cough* Jagen filter spamming snippets of background images and calling it original *Cough*), a limiter of sill for those who don't know how to use it right, or a serious extension of your skills by providing tools you'd otherwise never have. It is too bad that the majority are the first group.

lol SPLENDID! That is a word I have indeed not heard in awhile. I probably won't color this, but even if I do it's probably only going to be a light stylistic color just to see what her colors are and bring contrast out to the face a bit. Thanks for the comment!

Absolutely breath-taking, the eyes are beautiful and the hair so realistic. Thoroughly impressed with your attention to detail in character profile also.

Cheers!

Also, what did you use to draw her?

Photoshop CS4 + Wacom Intuos 3 pen tablet. So far I've only used about a 2-3px brush

Ah! This would be why it looks so flawless. Have you always drawn digitally, did you start the old fashioned way? If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take to really master drawing on the tablet? It must require such skill not only on the tablet but on paper also. I'm intrigued

When I was younger around 5 or so I drew all the time on paper but hated coloring. From there on all the way to my teenage years I kept on but stopped from around 15-21 because of martial arts and just forgetting about it I guess. =/ So from that 6 year period I kinda gave up and missed out on a lot of practice I could of been making. About a year ago I got back into it but decided to get into CG/Digital design. I even started with just the mouse and just making careful/precise lines to define what I wanted. Wasn't that long until a friend of mine gave me a pen tablet he wasn't using. I'm very greatful and been getting serious about art the past year.

I don't usually draw on paper unless I'm out and bored, But I always try and use photoshop and digital tools conservatively. If you don't, the program becomes more of a depending tool instead of actual skill.
