Hey! This is probably quite random coming from me, given that I've simply been trawling Deviant for wallpapers and found my way here. Ahem. If I might be so bold as to put forth a suggestion? You have some definite potential with this wallpaper and your editing style, but I feel you're suffering a typical "over editing" mistake that creates a sort of "Uncanny Valley" here. Very often we can accept things as fantastical, which is the whole point of art, but to accentuate them with elements of reality. I think the core conceptualization of this piece is very good, but could have stood to have more of a color contrast from the blues. Furthermore, if you were depicting the sun, you might have tried experimenting to see if a more realistic solar color would have been appropriate, and modeled those solar flares likewise. As it stands, from my view, the sun behind the black moon looks very flat and almost 2D, as well as out of proportion (not a true sphere). The moon is great, but also not a true sphere, and the whole thing has a sort of "wibbly wobbly" perspective to it, as if made with play-dough.
I'm not attempting to criticize out of malice, I simply feel you have a great idea here that isn't fully explored yet. Again, I am not saying that art has to be realistic, but it looks much better when it's consistent with some elements of reality - in this case, I believe that adding those realistic concepts and colors might have portrayed the wallpaper better. As it stands, I can't use it as a wallpaper because it looks flat and 2D, rather than spherical and real. Perhaps, as well, make the moon have some color to it (as moons do)? If instead you were attempting to portray the moon and NOT the sun, and make a quarter-moon as Luna's cutiemark, you really shouldn't have drawn it as though it were a roiling star. Something to consider.
