'Daw, too cute! Love how you did the fur and colour on that belly and hind legs- looks so realistic!
Rottie mix?

Thanks. X3
And yeah we believe she is a Rottie mix. My brother was told she was pure Rottie when he bought her, but for only 100 bucks that seems unlikely. We thought maybe part Shepherd, but then there are those hind dew claws to figure into the mix.

Yeah, and there are a few other mountain dogs that have rear dew claws as wells. What's really funny is that all of her dew claws have pads on them.
But whatever she is, my brother loves her to death! I do too, he is absolutely adorable!

Wow, I thought this was a photo from the inbox thumb. This is so good! The detail on Sepal(?) is amazing. This pic has a...'vector'ish feel to it. If I have to critique something, I guess I would say the values are a tad flat? Which is also hard for me to judge cuz my monitor likes to tone colors down. But the style doesn't NEED it anyway.
Awesome

Thanks! Yeah I know what you mean about the values. On my desktop the picture looks fine, but on my laptop it looks really flat, but when I printed it out on photo paper everything looked alright. The skin was just a little light, but IDk!
Thanks so much for the comment and critique!

Your art is improving by leaps and bounds, to the extent that I am quite jealous. Although the shading needs to be worked on a little bit, it is overall very detailed with good blending and overall underlying anatomy.
Awesome work!

The placement of the shadows, overall it feels a little bit flat. This tends to be a common problem when you are working directly from photo reference.
It is easier for me to explain in person, but the basics of what I mean are seen here:

I am mostly thinking of the cast shadow. another explanation, though i don't like this one as much.

Video that somewhat demonstrates it:

Try draping some fabric over something, or wrapping it around something, and having some direct directional light coming from one side with little to no other lighting in the room. Then draw the fabric as you see it, paying close attention to the shadows and their edges. Good exercise we did at LCAD a lot. Take your time, and use something that means something to you. Like a baby blanket, favorite sweater, etc... tends to turn out better when it means something to you.

Forgot to say, this is best done with a white piece of fabric, and/or a black and white striped fabric.

omg haha~~ I can see why he wouldn't have that in mind... it actually makes them both look adorable! In any case i must save i'm loving so many things about everything... the belly.. muzzle.. butt fluff.. neck! Mmm. Personally i don't see how he would be able to breath but that's just me! Really great job.

Because Rusty loves his dog too much to care about breathing? IDK how he was able to breath like that either, but I caught them laying on the couch like that when I went home. XD

uuuuuh... NO! Rusty gets in the most accidents out of all of my moms kids. In fact... I think he is the ONLY one who gets in accidents. But in his defense, they are never his fault! Its always some one driving into him, or some crazy shit! But only one of those times was I in the car with him. Some stupid kid in the school parking lot drive into the side of our car.
