The urgency from the silvery Tyrian's landing had made the ground and leaves around them shake from the draft and weight impacting the ground.
It was hurried and anything but graceful, with the wind from their long heavy wings feeding the flames into a tighter more aggressive circle around them.
It slowly crept in to engulf more of its surroundings.
Everything was colored an eerie orange glow and the smoke was beginning to choke them out.
Kingsmere stood there, almost shocked, still taking in everything that had happened so quickly upon seeing his father land right before the small being that now laid motionless on the ground.
They were still unconscious from it all, though quivers unintentionally surfaced from time to time, as though its body still fighting.
The young dark Tyrian's last flames burned down to mere smoke in his throat and his chest pumped furiously for air as he tried to catch his breath.
His fire had never been this intense and precise before, so much so that it left him in near shambles from learning of what he could do.
And if it weren't for the situation they were in, he would have normally felt considerably proud of this achievement.
But the bewilderment wouldn’t last long. Kiaran tried to snap him out of his shock, intensity in his normally smooth and calm voice;
The pale silvery giant gently but hastily swooped his large claws and front wings under the limp body of the small unconscious Vayron pup.
He was careful not to hurt them when handling their frail body.
Its size so small compared to himself.
Pity overcame Kiaran for a moment. Seeing the small Vayron pup's disheveled and starving state was difficult for him to witness, his glowing eyes softened with grief.
He picked up the pace before trying to gently slip the pup into the pouch attached to his chest,
they had padded it with leaves and leftover herbs in hopes of making it more comfortable for the sole purpose of this capture.
And as Kiaran headed towards Kingsmere and their only exit, away from the flames that roared around the small enclosed pond,
the little pup's slithery long tail curled around the claws that was holding him, almost like a reflex, before sliding all the way down into the pouch.
The tall silvery giant made his way past his son, he noticed the distance and anguish in his son's eyes, their gaze still locked onto the flames behind them.
Kiaran recognized the hurt, and although he knew there was nothing that he could do to reassure his son that it would all go well,
seeing him like this always bruised his heart.
He let Kingsmere watch the flames for a small moment longer, before bringing them back to reality on a softer tone.
He said with utmost sincerity.
It was plain to see that his son had heard him this time, for he watched Kingsmere's ears fall flatly back and his posture change.
He was not able to see Kingsmere's true reaction from having moved past him and the flaming enclosure,
but he had hoped that those few heartfelt words of encouragement would reassure them before they would press on, knowing that his son would now also follow suit.
A long sigh finally escaped Kingsmere, his agonizing frown dissipating into bittersweet relief.
After all, this was merely the beginning of their troubles, both could not deny the dangers that it could bring to them both if anyone found out about this.
This made Kingsmere's stomach turn, but he swallowed his apprehension if only to try and find solace in his father's words.
Kiaran left to find a trail where the trees ran more thin. He held one of his clawed wings to his chest, making sure that the pup in his pouch was secure,
his glowing gaze stuck once more upon the sky above the forest trees.
Kingsmere trailed behind, his head hanging low to hide his troubled frown. He was completely quiet.
- "This is a good place. Are you ready?"
Kiaran questioned his now silent son, who only answered with a nod when Kiaran's blue glowing eyes met his, ensuring that they were still closely behind and attentive.
It was in good timing too, since the mist was seemingly dissipating, they could finally see the clear dark starry sky above them.
Their lands floating above were quite the distance away, but the coast seemed clear.
Simultaneously, both of them took off to the skies. They swerved around the tall branches to finally pierce though the tallest trees and into the open night sky.
Moonlight reflected brightly against their coats, like two stray stars in the void of night.
The island was massive. Atop the point where they were flying to was a pasture at its brink,
where the edge was nothing but empty plains for miles before reaching another forest that separated nature from the city.
Their home.
During their entire flight upwards, Kingsmere had remained completely silent, one could only hear the whistling of their wings cutting through the air.
It was a strenuous trek to fly upwards so sharply, but this wasn't the first time they had done this. In fact, it was practically a breeze for them at this point despite the exhaustion that started settling in.
Though, the young Tyrian pup still flew ahead, creating some distance between himself and his father to try and reach the hidden entrance at the base of the floating island first.
His father's words and praise still ringing in his ears, he let a small grateful smile stretch his lips as it played back in his mind. His frown mellowing away briefly, for once.
They were almost there, approaching the massive floating chunk of land's underside, hidden from all above it.
There was a sense of security to have arrived beneath it. Washing away nearly all worries for a moment.
When they would reach the crevice's entrance, they would crawl through the underside, into a hidden path and narrow cave system.
They had crawled through it so many times by now that it would merely be any effort to squeeze through.
And it wouldn't take too long after that to cover the rest on foot and finally reach their home, where they could safely and finally assess the small Vayron pup's wellbeing and condition.

I added Hero's little tail curling around the claws because I found it cute (and also hilarious for some reason).
Gonna bring 'em along for a nice little flight.
And, I want to add that Kiaran truly IS proud of his son here. He doesn’t know how it all went down of course, but the fact that they finally managed to capture our little creature friend here is a big achievement since they’ve been struggling to do so for a -very- long time.
and Kingsmere using his fire has always been part of the plan.
