To what extent is the question.
I used a ref for the shape of the face and the markings on the face and a general Idea of how a tiger would look and feel
now once I had that down I made everything else from scratch, so basically the pose i came up with, the lance if of my design, the expression and all other details. I'm very proud of my work

It's likely that you wouldn't know the reference, unless you've seen the tiger in a crouched position licking it's lips, waiting to pounce.
