The lighting is looking pretty good once again! I think the piece would be stronger if you had a faster falloff though (i.e. his back legs are almost black in shadow). So you know, a lot stronger of a vignette, which would get rid of some of the more unnecessary information, like the back caves. The floor being the same color as the wall kind of ungrounds them.
Personal opinion, I think these would look SUPER awesome if you did it as a paper collage rather and then used photoshop to fix what you want.
Hope I wasn't harsh!
But ya, if you don't want to basically black off a third of your image I'd understand, I hate to work hard on stuff just to "destroy" it lol.

Good deal! It's always that little bit extra that turns a piece from something "good" to something "outstanding!"
Haha, I don't blame you. I LOVE to do collage stuff, but hate cutting, looking at getting a die cutter machine to do all the work for me lol.
And as far as colors go, don't let the paper colors dictate the color of your art lol. Once it's in photoshop, screw with the colors all day long and make it what you want! Add extra effects on top of it, etc. With today's technology, mixed media is becoming the most outstanding looking! You get to keep real texture, plus add glowing bits (or w/e) that never would have existed!
I'd love to teach art if you haven't noticed by all my critiques lol. My teachers were pretty good, but all had this issue with being biased to certain styles. I tend to feel that I can look at art of all calibers, from people who have extensive knowledge as yourself, down to people who've never drawn, and make them a better artist than they were. Also, I can do the same style-wise. Ex. I'm not going to tell a cubist artist to draw more realistically lol.

Haha no prob!
I think that's how most inventions are and etc. It's like right under your nose, and then when someoe FINALLY sheds the light, it all clicks! And then you make a masterpiece!!!
Yaa it's wayyyy subjective and I'll take that as a compliment lol.
totally off subject, but if you like your images to look cinematic, I'm starting to do my own stock. Only got some archery ones up right now though. Some of them are bleh, but I think he most are quite different!

Experimentation is always nice!
Haha, really? That's funny. Yaaaa, I do 10 times better AT LEAST when I draw from reference!

Yaaa, this is true!
Honestly though, as an illustrator, nothing is really cheating if it helps you achieve better results, I've most definitely traced something verbatim before, but it didn't look the same and I put it in a different environment. That's just how I think though lol.

True! I like to trace out objects in Illustrator as well. Makes life a heck of a lot easier than free-handing the pen tool lol.
