This makes a really good complement to the kathrynstar piece, in my opinion, both in the completementary color schemes and the differences in "energy," if that makes sense.

Ohh I've always thought she is gorgeous. I love the colours in this, such gentle strength.

I love the eyes . . . they haunt me because they seem so faint, but strong. You are so good at these!! I love to see what you do. With my vanity, it would be cool to see what you would do with me . . . but you've already had too many requests, I am sure. Anyways, I like this a lot.

How would you want me to send them? Through here, or through something else? You can even just check through my gallery some--I have been doing mostly self-portraits now. I appreciate your consideration of my request.

I think I'll probably end up submitting some as scraps, though you're more than welcome to tramp through my gallery--all of the submissions from June that have a female are actually of me. You can use those, or when I do submit some random face ones (since I know you focus mostly on heads and all) I'll send you a note. Thanks again for letting me be vain.

I really like how you did the colors to the lips and eyes, They are such a contrast to the hair, I love the hair as well. Beautiful work.

the hair neck and shoulder do a really interesting push and pull that accidentally creates pictorial tension. the image it has a cool serene natural feeling, and the way you used the red makeup to contrast with the green background were good elements
I like the simplicity and naturalism but as a whole personally I would go bigger if I wanted it to be special. This strikes me more as a comissioned work than art.

this is truly stunning. I really like how her eyes arent so bright or dark, but a little pale...usually eyes are stronger in portraits. The messiness of this really draws me in. and the coloring is something original, i never thought orange/gold, green, and lilac(?)would look so good together.

Once more I like the hair the most. Have a really personal feel to it. The big contrast between the colors is also very attractive. Really nice one!

I really like the bright colours you used for the lips and eyes. The messy hair is awesome and the blue really adds some nice detail I think.

this is personal taste coming into play, to be sure,
but it feels too finished to me. the level of fidelity,
or, since I suppose that's not really what I mean,
the level of naturalism is high, too high, very good,
for example, for a street portrait or something similar
for someone who only wants a likeness and maybe an ego boost --
keep in mind that I'm not implying that's the case here
or casting any sort of aspersions whatsoever, I just think
that that's an illustrative analogy --
but as a drawing more for the sake of the drawing than the subject
it's not... I'm not exactly sure... wild enough,
nor is it particularly self conscious any more, which I liked.

her hair probably is a bit lighter, but I admittedly take quite bit of liberty with interpreting people...usually I focus on eyes and mouth (if I can get those down, I can usually play with the rest pretty hard and still retain the core idea of who they are).

you might be next...
